The IQAN-G12 is a Bluetooth dongle designed for use with Parker's IQAN control systems, specifically the MD4 and MC4 master modules running IQANdesign 6.08 or later. It can also function as a replacement for the IQAN-G11 in older systems. This device facilitates wireless diagnostic data transmission from the IQAN system to a smartphone or tablet equipped with the IQANgo app, or to a PC running IQANrun.
Function Description:
The IQAN-G12 acts as a wireless diagnostic unit, enabling communication between the IQAN control system and external devices for various operations. It supports both on-site and remote diagnostic modes. In on-site mode, the IQANgo app connects directly to the IQAN-G12 via Bluetooth, allowing the user to perform all diagnostic operations locally. For remote assistance, the IQANgo app connects to the machine via the IQAN-G12 and the internet, enabling remote users to perform diagnostic operations. The device has one CAN interface, located in a Deutsch DT 4 pin connector, which is used to interface with IQAN master modules like the IQAN-MD4.

Usage Features:
The IQAN-G12, in conjunction with the IQANgo app and IQANdesign software, offers a comprehensive set of features for system management and diagnostics:
- Pairing: Initial connection to a PC or app requires pairing. The method for enabling pairing is configured in IQANdesign. If a passkey is required, it is typically a 6-digit code shown in the master display menu system. For systems with firmware older than 6.08, the passkey is fixed at 000000 and is not stored, requiring re-entry for each connection.
- Security Settings: IQANdesign allows configuration of security settings for master display units, including options to "ask user" for remote connection and remote stop, or to "always allow" remote connection and stop. For master units without a display, a digital channel can be used to determine when remote connection is safe.
- System Information: View detailed system information through the IQANgo app.
- Log Management: Access and manage system logs. Logs can be retrieved from the machine as clone files, settings files, or log files.
- Measure: Monitor various system parameters in real-time, with the ability to graph measurements.
- Adjust: Modify adjust groups in the connected machine. Some adjustments may require a higher access level and a PIN code. Parameter values are adjusted online, with changes taking effect instantaneously.
- File Transfer: Send project, clone, or settings files to the machine, or retrieve clone, settings, and log files from the machine. Files are stored locally on the mobile device in the IQANgo folder (Documents > IQANgo Files for Android, On My iPhone > IQANgo for iOS).
- Remote Assistance: Connect to the machine via the internet for remote diagnostics and support.
Maintenance Features:
- System Diagnostics LED: The IQAN-G12 features a bi-color LED on its front surface that indicates system status and dongle status. Different flash patterns (yellow for status, red/yellow for errors) communicate various modes and error conditions.
- Init: 100 ms on, 100 ms off (yellow)
- Waiting: 100 ms on, 2900 ms off (yellow)
- Connected: 900 ms on, 100 ms off (yellow)
- CAN error (bus off): Primary Flash (red) with Secondary Flash (yellow) indicating error description. The IQAN-G12 will attempt to recover automatically.
- Internal error: Primary Flash (red) with Secondary Flash (yellow) indicating error description. A longer sequence of flashes requires contacting Parker.
- Mounting Recommendations: The IQAN-G12 should be mounted with the connector facing down using 2 M4 bolts. Recommendations include eliminating cabling risks, avoiding physical impact, ensuring air circulation for heat dissipation, protecting from pressure washing, and positioning for clear LED visibility and good signal connection. An applied connector cover is recommended for outdoor protection against UV radiation.
- CAN Termination: If the IQAN-G12 is at the end of the CAN bus, a 120 ohm termination resistor must be installed between the CAN-H and CAN-L pins.
- Software Updates: It is required to download operating system 6.08 or later to enable full functionality of the IQAN-G12 in IQANdesign platform systems.
- Non-Field Repairable: The product is not field repairable. In case of internal errors or malfunctions, contact Parker.
