The Thermasonic® Gel Warmer is a device designed to warm ultrasound gel to a comfortable temperature, enhancing patient comfort during procedures. It is suitable for indoor use and continuous operation, providing warm gel whenever needed.
The primary function of the Thermasonic Gel Warmer is to heat a full bottle of gel to a consistent temperature of 104°F (40°C). It is designed for continuous operation, meaning it does not need to be disconnected when not in use. The device incorporates a temperature sensor to monitor its functions and a Microtemp® thermal cutoff to prevent overheating, ensuring safe and reliable performance.
The Thermasonic Gel Warmer is available in two models:
Both models are designed to operate within an ambient temperature range of 68°F (20°C) to 95°F (35°C), with a maximum relative humidity of 80% (non-condensing). They conform to Installation Category II (transient voltages) and Pollution Degree 2 in accordance with IEC 664. The device is suitable for operation at altitudes up to 6,500 feet.
The Thermasonic Gel Warmer complies with several European Directives and standards, including:
Installation: The gel warmer can be placed on a flat, stable surface, away from drafts, in an upright position. It should not be laid flat on any side. Alternatively, it can be wall-mounted using the supplied screws and wall anchors. For wall mounting, two marks should be made on the wall 1.75 inches (4.45 cm) apart, ensuring the marks are level. If mounting into wood, screws should be installed with 0.1" (2.5mm) clearance between the wall and the screw head. For drywall, wall anchors are necessary. Users are cautioned against drilling or installing screws in walls where wires or plumbing may be present. The gel warmer is then positioned so the large round wells on the back of the unit pass over the screw heads, pressed against the wall, and slid downward to trap the screw heads in the grooves.
Operation: After installation, the power cord should be plugged into an appropriate electrical outlet matching the voltage listed on the electrical information label on the back of the unit. The device features a Heat Indicator Lamp that blinks while the unit is approaching the set temperature and remains illuminated once the temperature is reached. If the unit restarts the heating process, the lamp will blink again. It takes approximately two hours for a full bottle of gel to reach the proper temperature. Users are advised to always test a small quantity of gel before applying, as temperature can vary.
Error Codes: The Thermasonic Gel Warmer is equipped with a temperature sensor and a thermal cutoff. If the temperature sensor is not operating, the Heat Indicator Lamp will blink once every five seconds. If a short circuit occurs, the lamp will blink twice every five seconds. In either error scenario, the heater will not operate.
Cleaning: No routine maintenance is required, and there are no user-serviceable parts inside the unit. For cleaning, the Gel Warmer must be disconnected from the electrical outlet. The outer casing can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent soap. Abrasive cleaners, abrasive materials (like paper towels), or solvents should not be used, as they can scratch the finish or damage the unit. The Gel Warmer should never be submerged or immersed in water.
Warranty: All Thermasonic Gel Warmers come with a two-year Limited Warranty from the date of purchase. Users are explicitly advised not to attempt to service the unit, as any evidence of disassembly, tampering, or misuse will void the warranty.
