Why is the cut quality poor on my Parkside TOUR PDM 600 B2?

  If the cut quality is poor when using the Parkside Lathe, it could be due to several reasons. The cutting tool may be blunt, in which case you should sharpen or replace it. You might be cutting too aggressively, so reduce the work pressure. Ensure the cutting tool is not positioned more than 3 mm below the workpiece centreline. Also, verify that the turning speed isn't too slow and adjust it accordingly.

  Excessive vibration when turning thin workpieces on the Parkside Lathe can occur if the cutting tool is below the workpiece centreline; raise the cutting tool to the centreline. Also, reduce the work pressure if you are cutting too aggressively.

  If you experience excessive vibration when turning large workpieces or bowls on your Parkside Lathe, check that the workpiece tips on the headstock and/or tailstock are properly attached to the centre of the workpiece. Another cause may be that the workpiece is not balanced, so cut the end of the part until it is.

  If the Parkside wood-turning machine does not turn off, immediately pull the machine’s plug out of the socket. Do not operate the machine until a qualified service technician has repaired it, as this could be due to a damaged or defective power switch or internal wiring.
