WEBER CARE
WEBER CHARCOAL GRILL CARE
Everyme you grill
Clean the cooking grate - aer the coals have died out, brush o any loose parcles on the warm
(not hot) cooking grate with a brass grill brush or a handful of crumpled aluminium foil. For more
thorough cleaning, use a wet, soapy, ne steel wool pad with only slight pressure. Rinse thoroughly
and dry.
Remove cold ashes from the boom of the kele as this prevents airow problems next me you
grill. Ashes also absorb moisture, which may cause premature rusng of the One-Touch Cleaning
System.
As needed
Clean the inside and outside of the bowl and lid. If you allow cooking residue to burn o the inside
of your grill every me you use it, you shouldn’t have to work as hard at scrubbing the inside. You
can simply brush o any aking baked-on grease with a brass wire grill brush.
If you want to get your grill in sparkling condion, either inside or out, warm soapy water and a
sponge or dishcloth are usually sucient. If necessary, lightly scrub the porcelain-enamelled parts
with a soapy, ne steel wool pad. Be careful not to scratch the porcelain.
Never wax or paint the lid. The nish on your grill is baked-on porcelain enamel, so you never have
to wax or paint it. This nish is glossier and much more durable than paint, and wax will only streak
when the grill gets hot. So just wipe the lid down with warm, soapy water when it gets dusty or dirty.
Easy!
WEBER GAS GRILL CARE
Everyme you grill
Clean the cooking grate - before or aer grilling, burn o any residue by simply turning the grill on
high unl the smoke stops, then brush the cooking grates with a brass wire grill brush. Please note:
cast iron cooking grates require slightly dierent care.
As needed
Change the Catch Pan Liner. You can buy replacement Drip Pans from your local Weber dealer.
These pans are made to t your catch pan under the boom tray of your Weber gas grill. Regularly
changing the liner also discourages animals from vising your grill for a midnight snack.ne steel

Overview

This document provides comprehensive care instructions for Weber charcoal and gas grills, ensuring their longevity and optimal performance.

Weber Charcoal Grill Care

Function Description:

Weber charcoal grills are designed for outdoor cooking using charcoal as a heat source. They typically feature a kettle-style design with a lid, cooking grate, and a bottom bowl for charcoal and ash collection. The One-Touch Cleaning System facilitates easy ash removal.

Usage Features:

  • Cooking Grate: The cooking grate is where food is placed for grilling.
  • Lid: The lid helps to control temperature, smoke, and moisture during cooking.
  • One-Touch Cleaning System: This system allows for convenient removal of ashes from the bottom of the kettle.

Maintenance Features:

  • Everytime you grill:
    • Cooking Grate Cleaning: After the coals have died out, brush off loose particles from the warm (not hot) cooking grate using a brass grill brush or crumpled aluminum foil. For a more thorough clean, use a wet, soapy, fine steel wool pad with slight pressure, then rinse and dry.
    • Ash Removal: Remove cold ashes from the bottom of the kettle to prevent airflow problems and premature rusting of the One-Touch Cleaning System.
  • As needed:
    • Bowl and Lid Cleaning (Inside and Outside): If cooking residue is allowed to burn off with each use, scrubbing the inside becomes easier. Simply brush off flaking baked-on grease with a brass wire grill brush. For sparkling condition, use warm soapy water and a sponge or dishcloth. For stubborn areas, lightly scrub porcelain-enameled parts with a soapy, fine steel wool pad, being careful not to scratch the porcelain.
    • Lid Finish: The lid has a baked-on porcelain enamel finish, which is glossier and more durable than paint. Never wax or paint the lid, as wax will streak when the grill heats up. Simply wipe the lid down with warm, soapy water when it gets dusty or dirty.

Weber Gas Grill Care

Function Description:

Weber gas grills utilize gas (propane or natural gas) as a fuel source for outdoor cooking. They typically include cooking grates, Flavorizer Bars, a control panel, warming racks, a cookbox, and a bottom tray with a catch pan liner for grease collection.

Usage Features:

  • Cooking Grates: These are the surfaces where food is cooked. Cast iron cooking grates may require specific care.
  • Flavorizer Bars: These bars are designed to vaporize drippings, creating smoke and flavor, and protect the burners.
  • Control Panel: Houses the knobs and controls for operating the grill.
  • Warming Racks: Provide an elevated surface for keeping food warm or indirect cooking.
  • Catch Pan Liner: A disposable liner in the bottom tray to collect grease drippings.

Maintenance Features:

  • Everytime you grill:
    • Cooking Grate Cleaning: Before or after grilling, burn off any residue by turning the grill on high until smoke stops, then brush the cooking grates with a brass wire grill brush. Note that cast iron grates require different care.
  • As needed:
    • Catch Pan Liner Replacement: Replace the Catch Pan Liner regularly. Replacement Drip Pans are available from local Weber dealers. Regular replacement discourages animals from seeking midnight snacks.
    • Smoke Stain Removal (Lid and Side Burner Cover): For grill lid smoke stains, use a soapy, fine steel wool pad with a very light touch. For stainless steel side burner covers, use only warm, soapy water and a sponge or dishcloth, as fine steel wool can scratch it. Smoke stains are common on new grills at lid seams and around the thermometer holder, but will cease once a natural seal forms from accumulated cooking vapors.
    • Flavorizer Bars Cleaning: It's generally not necessary to remove Flavorizer Bars for cleaning, as preheating the grill on high burns off most residue. Occasionally brush them with a brass grill brush or scrape with a nylon or plastic putty knife. Be careful not to gouge the porcelain-enamel finish.
    • Warming Racks and Control Panel Cleaning: Use a soapy, fine steel wool pad to clean warming racks and remove grease spots from the control panel. Use a very light touch on the control panel to avoid scratching the porcelain. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Endcaps and Cookbox Cleaning: Clean grease drippings on these exterior surfaces promptly with mild, soapy water and rinse thoroughly, as grease is toxic to painted surfaces. Avoid harsh or lemon-based cleaners, which can ruin the paint finish.
    • Bottom Tray Cleaning: Remove the cool (never hot!) bottom tray. Scrape the inside with a 1" putty knife or other flat object, pushing residue through the bottom hole into a trash can. For a deep clean, use warm, soapy water and a soapy, fine steel wool pad, being careful not to scratch the porcelain finish.
    • Lid Finish: The lid has a baked-on porcelain enamel finish, which is glossier and more durable than paint. Never wax or paint the lid, as wax will streak when the grill heats up. Simply wipe the lid down with warm, soapy water when it gets dusty or dirty.
    • Bottom Tray Lining: Never line the bottom tray with foil, as grease can accumulate in creases and cause a grease fire.
    • Cleaning Products: Never use oven cleaner on your gas grill, as it can damage the painted surfaces.
