The ProGrip System Saw Base gives you total control for straight-line action. Attaches to your
Saw with fasteners supplied by you depending on the saw plate thickness. This UHMW plastic
base provides smooth long lasting service.
Saw Mounting Instructions
Step 1
Unplug and remove saw blade from the saw.
(See Figure 1)

Using The ProGrip Saw Base
The UHMW Saw Base can be use on any length ProGrip Straight edge clamp. The base can be
used on either the right or left side of the clamp to make straight cuts with your saw.
If your Pro-Grip Saw Base comes with locking knobs leave the locking knobs loose enough so
the base will slide smoothly though its full travel.
This Instruction Manual is a general set of instruction
for mounting a circular saw on the Pro-Grip Saw Base
Plate and Pro-Grip Universal Plate. All circular saws are
not the same and some modication maybe required to
mount your saw. Please read the entire set instructions
before beginning.

Using The ProGrip Saw Base

The UHMW Saw Base offers total control for straight-line action and attaches to ProGrip Straight edge clamps.

Saw Mounting Instructions Step 1

Unplug the circular saw and remove the saw blade from the unit.

Step 2: Prepare Saw Plate for Marking

Apply masking tape to saw plate ends to create a surface for marking mounting hole locations.

Step 3: Locate Mounting Holes

Identify flat areas on the saw base plate and mark screw locations on the applied masking tape.

Step 4: Drill Mounting Holes

Drill pilot holes with a 1/8" bit, then enlarge to 1/4" for mounting screws.

Step 5: Clean Mounting Holes

Remove masking tape and deburr the four drilled mounting holes.

Step 6: Apply Tape for Marking

Apply masking tape strips to the Pro-Grip Saw Base for marking mounting hole locations.

Step 7: Position Saw on Tape Runners

Align the saw's edge with the Pro-Grip Saw Base edge and center it for accurate cutting.

Step 8: Mark Drill Locations

Mark mounting hole positions on tape runners using a drill bit and hammer, ensuring edge alignment.

Step 9: Define Drilling Marks

Clearly mark the drill locations identified in the previous step using a fine-tip marker or pencil.

Step 10: Drill and Remove Tape

Drill the four mounting holes and remove the tape runners from the Pro-Grip Saw Base.

Step 11: Countersink Mounting Holes

Countersink the four mounting holes from the bottom of the saw base for flush screw heads.

Step 12: Attach Saw to Base

Mount the saw using 1/4" flat head screws, lock washers, and wing nuts, ensuring edge alignment.

Step 13: Plunge Cut Saw Base

Plug in the saw, turn it on, and slowly plunge the blade through the Pro-Grip Saw Base.

Caution: Plunge Cut Clearance

Ensure clearance below the saw blade before plunging to avoid damaging the surface below.
