Overview

This document describes the PeakMedical Mo-2 HD DVR/Monitor, a device designed for use with video laryngoscopes, specifically the Peak VN laryngoscope. It functions as a monitor and digital video recorder (DVR) to assist with intubation procedures.

Function Description

The Mo-2 HD DVR/Monitor serves as a visual aid during intubation by displaying real-time images from a connected video laryngoscope. It also has the capability to record both video and still images of the procedure. The device is equipped with an internal Li-Ion battery, which can be charged via a Mini USB port using a supplied 5V adapter and USB cable, or via a 5-12V port with a special adapter.

Usage Features

Powering On and Off: To power on, plug the VNScope connector into the monitor's AV-IN port, then press the ON-OFF switch and wait 10-15 seconds for the image to appear. The battery charge level should be checked upon startup. To power off, press the ON-OFF switch for 3 seconds.

Operation Modes: The monitor supports two primary operation modes:

  1. Intubation Mode (Record): This mode is used for performing intubation with a connected VNScope. To record video, press the record button once to open an information screen, and press it again to start recording. To stop recording, press the record button once more.
  2. Intubation Mode (Photo): This mode is for taking still pictures during intubation. To capture a picture, press the photo button. The device takes 3 seconds to process the image. Recording and photo capture are only possible if a TF memory card is inserted.

Playback Mode: Users can play back recorded videos and photos. To access playback, select the playback mode and use the navigation buttons to choose between Photo or Video, depending on the file format (JPG or AVI). To start video playback, press the play button; to stop, press it again.

Deleting Files: In playback mode, users can select a picture or video, then press the menu button, select "Delete," and confirm by pressing the menu button again to delete the current file. To view thumbnails of films and pictures, press the menu button and choose "Thumbnail" mode, then press it again to select a file for deletion.

Zoom Functionality: In intubation mode, the device allows for image magnification using the zoom buttons. However, it is noted that increasing magnification in normal conditions may decrease image quality.

System Settings: The monitor includes system settings such as "Loop Recording" and "Screen Off." It is recommended to keep "Loop Recording" set to "OFF" to prevent overwriting previous records. Similarly, "Screen Off" should be set to "OFF" to avoid the monitor suddenly switching off.

Intubation Technique with Video Laryngoscope: The manual outlines a 4-Step Technique for intubation using the Peak VN laryngoscope:

  1. Look in the Mouth: Introduce the video laryngoscope into the mouth using conventional direct laryngoscopy technique.
  2. Look at the Screen: Identify the epiglottis and manipulate the blade to obtain the best glottis view.
  3. Look in the Mouth: Guide the distal tip of the tube into position near the tip of the laryngoscope.
  4. Look in the Screen: Complete the intubation, rotating or angling the tube as needed for redirection.

Maintenance Features

Battery Care: The monitor's battery should be charged at least once a week if not in use. It is crucial not to charge the battery during intubation.

Cleaning and Disinfection: Only use liquid or aerosol cleaners and disinfectants specified by the manufacturer. Do not spill liquids of any kind onto the product.

General Care: Store the device in a dry, clean condition, away from heat and light. Do not insert or pull out the TF memory card when the monitor is ON. Do not push objects of any kind into the product through openings. Do not attempt to service the product yourself; opening or removing the cover will void the warranty. When used in the vicinity of patients or in the treatment area, the monitor should only be used when enclosed in its protective enclosure.

Troubleshooting: If no image appears on the screen, the user should turn off the monitor, unplug the camera, remove the memory card, connect the power adapter, and then turn it on again. If the image still does not appear, continue charging for an additional 2-3 hours, then unplug the adapter and turn the monitor on. If the image appears, continue charging.

Warranty: The product comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering faulty parts and functions under normal use. Malfunctions caused by user carelessness, inadequate maintenance, or natural disaster are not covered, and repair/replacement services for these will incur a fee. If the product is unsuitable for its application, it can be returned for exchange or refund within 14 days, provided it is in good condition. A serial number is required for returns, and the customer is responsible for all shipping costs.
