The Pedrollo QEM and QET series are control boxes designed for 4" borehole pumps, manufactured in Italy. These control boxes are essential components for managing the operation of submersible pumps, ensuring their efficient and safe functioning. They are built to meet high-quality and environmental standards, being certified by DNV for both ISO 14001 (environmental system) and ISO 9001 (quality system).
The primary function of the QEM and QET control boxes is to provide a centralized control point for borehole pumps. They manage the pump's power supply, offer protection against various electrical faults, and allow for manual or automatic operation. The QEM series is designed for single-phase pumps, while the QET series caters to three-phase pumps. Both series incorporate features to safeguard the pump motor from overcurrents and thermal overloads, thereby extending the pump's lifespan and ensuring reliable operation. They also include inputs for external control devices such as float switches or pressure switches, enabling automated pump control based on water levels or system pressure.
Both control boxes are designed for indoor installation in a well-ventilated environment. They comply with several EU directives and technical standards, including 73/23/CEE, 93/68/CEE, CEI 17-13/1 (EN 60439-1), CEI 70-1 (EN 60529), CEI 44-5 (EN 60204-1), and EN 60335-1/95, ensuring their safety and performance in accordance with European regulations.
Operation is straightforward. Turning the main switch to position (1) starts the pump, indicated by the green LED illuminating. The pump continues to operate until the switch is turned to position (0). In case of a motor overload, the thermal protection activates, stopping the pump and turning off the green LED. The intervention is signaled by the thermal protection button dropping out. To restore operation, the user must press the reset button down.
The QET offers more versatile control with its MANUAL/OFF/AUTOMATIC main switch.
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and effective operation of these control boxes.
The Pedrollo QEM/QET control boxes are designed for reliability and generally do not require routine maintenance, provided they are used within their specified operating limits and according to the manual's instructions.
The manual emphasizes several critical safety warnings:
The Pedrollo QEM and QET control boxes are robust, reliable, and safety-compliant solutions for managing borehole pumps, offering both manual and automatic control options with essential motor protection features.
