The HD90 Camera Pen
Is a simple, multifunctional video recorder built into a working ballpoint pen. Take photos, record audio, or capture HD720P
video with the touch of a button.
Getting Started
The first step in using your device is charging it. Connect the device to a USB port on your PC or plug it into one of our
optional charging accessories (wall/car/portable charger). While charging, the LED indicator will blink orange and will
become solid when the battery is full. Before first use, we suggest charging the device for 4 hours.
If you plan on viewing your files on your computer, we suggest using VLC Player. The most recent version can be
downloaded at no cost from http://www.videolan.org.
Insert micro SD card into the pen FIRST then power the device on, hold down the operation button (button on top of
pen) for 2-3 seconds. The LED indicator will be orange while the device is booting. The pen will automatically start recording
when you turn the pen on (video or audio depending on what position the mode switch is in). SEE DETAILED
INSTRUCTIONS BELOW
Recording Video
When in video mode (mode switch 2) the pen LED will glow orange for 1-2 sec (booting) then will automatically start
recoding and the blue LED will blink a few times to show you that recording has started, then turn off for the remainder of
recording. To stop recording click the button once, and the pen will go into video standby with solid orange.
While in video standby, the LED indicator will be a solid orange. Press the Record button to begin recording video. The LED
will blink blue a few times and starts recording. Press the Record button again to save your current file and stop recording.
(When you turn the pen on from the off position, the pen will automatically start recording after it has booted up)
Taking Photos
To take photos move the Mode switch to the 1st position. After the device is turned on in Mode Switch 1 it will automatically
start recording audio after boot up (Orange LED will be slowly blinking.) Press the Record button once to stop recording
audio; the orange LED will turn solid (pen is on but in standby mode). To take a photo press the record button, the LED will
blink blue to indicate it is capturing and storing your photo, and will return to solid orange.
Recording Audio
To record audio, move the Mode switch to the 1st position. Turn the unit on and the unit will automatically start recording
audio after booting up. While recording, the LED will slowly blink orange. To stop recording and save the file, press and hold
for 2 – 3 to shut the pen off. To start recording again press and hold the record button to turn it on and the pen will start
automatically recording.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Device Frozen or Unresponsive

Reset the device by inserting a pin into the reset hole for 2-3 seconds.

No Video Playback (Audio Only)

Use VLC Player for playback; issues may stem from the computer's media player.

Choppy or Stuttering Video

Copy files to PC or format the SD card if playback is poor.

LED Indicator Status

Blue LED flashes for low space; orange LED flashes for low battery before shutdown.
