  A high pressure reading on your filter gauge may be due to several reasons. There could be a restriction on the discharge side, calcium deposits on the filter elements, or excessive water flow because the pump horsepower exceeds the filter flow rate. If your system includes a heater, the flow valve on the heater might be stuck open. Also, the filter gauge itself may not be working properly. To resolve this, locate and correct any restrictions, remove and acid wash the elements if there are calcium deposits, establish the pump flow rate and compare it with the maximum filter flow rate requirement, adjust or replace the heater flow valve if necessary, and inspect or replace the filter gauge.
