Introduction
INTRODUCTION
Compact rugged and easy to use. Just aim and push the button, it reads
current surface temperatures in less than a second. Safely measure surface
temperatures of hot, hazardous or hard-to-reach objects without contact.
How it works
HOW IT WORKS
Infrared thermometer measures the surface temperature of an object. The
unit’s optical sensor emitted, reected, and transmitted energy which is col-
lected and focused onto a detector. The unit’s electronics translate the infor-
mation into a temperature reading which is displayed on the unit. The laser
makes aiming and measurement even more precise.
WARNING:
Do not point laser directly or indirectly (through reective surfaces) at eye.
FOR YOUR SAFETY,
please read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use.

Summary

Product Specifications

Temperature Range

Specifies the operational temperature limits from -50 to 380°C (-58 to 716°F).

Accuracy

Details the measurement accuracy as +1.5% or +1.5°C, ensuring precision.

Resolution

Indicates the smallest temperature unit the device can display, which is 0.1°C (0.1°F).

Response Time

The time it takes for the thermometer to provide a reading, specified as less than 0.8 seconds.

Introduction and How It Works

Introduction

Describes the thermometer as compact, rugged, and easy to use for measuring surface temperatures safely and quickly.

How It Works

Explains that the unit measures emitted, reflected, and transmitted energy from objects to determine temperature.

Important Safety Instructions

General Safety

Emphasizes reading all instructions to prevent serious personal injury and saving them for future reference.

Protection Cautions

Advises protection from EMF, thermal shock, and avoiding placement near high-temperature objects.

Laser Warning

Warns against pointing the laser directly or indirectly at eyes, including through reflective surfaces.

Operating Instructions

Taking Measurements

Point thermometer toward object, hold trigger. Object must be larger than spot size for accurate readings.

Distance and Spot Size

As distance increases, spot size grows. Target must be larger than spot size for accurate measurement.

Field of View

Ensure target is larger than unit's spot size. For critical accuracy, target should be twice spot size.

Emissivity Settings

Pre-set at 0.95 for organic/painted surfaces. Shiny metals need masking tape or paint for accurate readings.

Quick Start and Maintenance

Quick Start Instructions

Covers battery installation, trigger function for readings, and locating hot spots using the laser.

Maintenance

Includes guidelines for cleaning the lens using compressed air or a soft brush, and case cleaning with mild soap.

Parts Identification

Device Components

Identifies key parts of the thermometer including LCD, buttons, trigger, lenses, and icons.
