Why is there a sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on my PERMASTEEL Grill?
    • S
      Sean BallAug 18, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on your PERMASTEEL Grill can stem from a few reasons: * First, check if your LP cylinder is out of gas. * If not, the excess flow valve may have tripped. Try turning off the knobs, waiting 30 seconds, and then lighting the grill. If the flames remain low, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. * Vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection can also cause this issue. To resolve it, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and retry.

If the burner on your PERMASTEEL Grill doesn't light with the igniter, there are several potential causes related to gas flow and ignition. Here's what you can check: * Ensure you're trying to light the correct burner by checking the control panel instructions. * Make sure the valves are correctly positioned inside the burner tubes. * Inspect the burner tubes for obstructions like spider webs; if present, clean them. * Verify that your LP cylinder isn't empty, and if it isn't, refer to the section on 'Sudden drop in gas flow'. * Address potential vapor lock issues by turning off the knobs, disconnecting the coupling nut from the LP cylinder, reconnecting, and retrying. * Confirm the coupling nut and LP cylinder valve are fully connected, tightening them by hand until snug. * ...
