Overview

The Pet Stop® Pet Fence System is a comprehensive pet containment solution designed to provide safety and peace of mind for pet owners. The system primarily consists of a transmitter and at least one receiver collar, with various models available to suit different needs and environments. All Pet Stop products are designed to be interchangeable, allowing dealers to customize systems for optimal pet and owner satisfaction.

System Overview:

Each Pet Stop system is composed of a transmitter, which generates a signal field, and a receiver collar worn by the pet. The transmitter defines the boundary, and when the pet approaches this boundary, the receiver collar provides a correction to encourage the pet to stay within the designated safe area. Pet Stop emphasizes customizable settings to accommodate various breeds and pet dispositions, ensuring a smooth training transition and reliable containment.

Outdoor Transmitters:

Pet Stop offers several outdoor transmitter models, including the OT-100, OT-150, OT-200, and OT-300. These transmitters are designed for robust outdoor use and come with several standard features:

  • Built-in Lightning Protection with Zapp Alert® Warning: A critical safety feature, this protection guards against power surges and over-voltage from both the electrical outlet and the buried boundary wire. In the event of lightning damage, the Zapp Alert® provides an audio-visual indication (two short beeps) to alert the user. If this occurs, service from a local Pet Stop dealer is recommended. It's important to keep pets indoors during lightning storms.
  • Wire Break Warning System: Each transmitter includes a sensor that continuously monitors the boundary wire. If the wire breaks, the transmitter display will flash, and a continuous single beep will sound, alerting the user to the problem. Users should unplug the transmitter and contact their dealer for assistance with locating and repairing the break.
  • Fully Adjustable Signal Field: The signal field, which determines how far a pet can approach the boundary wire before receiving a correction, is fully adjustable.
    • Adjustment Mechanism: Up and down buttons on the front of the transmitter (or SET, UP, and DOWN buttons on the OT-300) allow for precise adjustment.
    • Range: The displayed range typically varies from 01 to 32. For example, a setting of 16 indicates an 8-foot signal field on either side of the boundary wire, totaling 16 feet.
    • Recommendation: Dealers typically set the optimal signal field range during installation. Users are advised to contact their dealer before making adjustments. If the transmitter is not functioning, dogs should be on a leash or carefully supervised.

OT-100, OT-150, & OT-200 Specific Features:

These models share a similar design and functionality:

  • Digital Display: Indicates the power level and blinks if the boundary wire loop is broken or a power surge has occurred.
  • Signal Field Adjustment: Adjusted using UP or DOWN buttons.
  • Boundary Loop Connections: Where the "loop" or boundary wire is connected.
  • Ground Wire: Also connected to the electrical outlet for safety.
  • AC Adapter: Supplies power to the unit.
  • Transmitter Programming: Dealers program the system for specific pets. Users needing modifications should consult their dealer.
  • Turning Off: To turn off these transmitters, simply unplug the AC adapter from the power jack.

OT-300 Specific Features:

  • Programming Buttons: Features UP, DOWN, and SET buttons for adjusting the signal field and stimulation settings.
  • Digital Display: An LED display area shows information about the signal field width and collar settings.
  • AC Adapter Jack: Connects to the AC adapter for power.
  • Boundary Loop Connections: Where the boundary wire is connected.
  • Ground Wire: Connects to the electrical outlet.
  • Transmitter Programming: Dealers program the system. Consult a dealer for modifications.
  • Adjusting the Signal Field (OT-300):
    1. Hold the SET button until the display turns off, then immediately release it. The current signal field setting will be displayed with two small red dots indicating program mode.
    2. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to adjust the boundary setting (range 01-32).
    3. Press the SET button to save changes. The number will flash once. If SET is not pressed, the programming mode will time out after 40 seconds, reverting to the previous setting.

Indoor Transmitters:

Pet Stop also offers indoor transmitters, which can create either wireless zones or use discretely hidden wires to define boundaries within the home.

  • Functionality: These transmitters extend the benefits of boundary setting indoors, preventing pets from accessing certain areas (e.g., furniture, rooms).
  • Battery-Powered Option: A battery-powered indoor unit is available for locations without electrical outlets. This can be used in waterproof enclosures for outdoor applications like protecting gardens or flower beds, or behind walls to protect passageways.
  • Customization: Local Pet Stop dealers can recommend various boundary configurations to meet specific needs.

Room Wizard (Indoor Transmitter):

The Room Wizard is a versatile indoor unit that can operate wirelessly or with a boundary wire.

  • Function Description: It creates a signal field to deter pets from specific areas.
  • Digital Range Display: Shows the current signal field range setting.
  • Power On/Off and Range Adjustment Buttons:
    • Pressing the "+" button turns the transmitter on if the display is not lit.
    • Pressing both "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously turns the transmitter off.
    • Pressing "+" increases the signal field emanating from the unit or wire.
    • Pressing "-" decreases the signal field.
  • AC Adapter Power Connector: Located on the left, for plugging in the AC adapter. Only approved PET STOP® AC adapters should be used.
  • Wired Mode Adapter Cord Connector: Labeled "Loop" on the right, used when the transmitter is connected to boundary wire.
  • Wireless Operation:
    1. Place the Room Wizard in the area to be avoided (e.g., under a sofa). It can also be wall-mounted.
    2. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet.
    3. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into the "Power" connector (LEFT) on the Room Wizard.
    4. The Range display should be lit. If not, press the top Range Adjustment button to turn it on.
    5. Adjust the signal field range using the "+" (increase, max 32) and "-" (decrease, min 1) buttons.
    6. Test the signal field range with the receiver collar, listening for beeps.
  • Important Note: Always remove the pet's Pet Stop receiver collar before adjusting the signal field range of the Room Wizard.

General Maintenance and Usage:

  • Dealer Support: Pet Stop emphasizes the role of its dealer network, who are experts in analyzing needs, recommending solutions, and programming systems.
  • Customization: All equipment has customizable settings to suit different pets and training needs.
  • Safety: Always follow safety guidelines, especially regarding lightning storms and transmitter functionality.
  • Troubleshooting: For wire breaks or other issues, contact a local Pet Stop dealer.

The Pet Stop system is designed for reliability, safety, and adaptability, ensuring effective pet containment both indoors and outdoors.
