INSTALLATION
CONNECTIONS
1 DIGITAL OUT (CD 920 only)
This output supplies a digital signal and can
therefore only be connected to an input which
is suitable for this signal.
Use here a lead with one cinch plug on either
end.
Never connect this socket to a non-digital
input of an amplifier, such as AUX, CD, TAPE,
PHONO, etc!
2 ANALOG OUT
For the connecting cable to the amplifier.
e Insert a red plug into the ‘R’ socket and the
other plug into the ‘L’ socket.
e Insert the two other plugs into the correspon-
ding sockets of the CD or AUX input of your
amplifier.
You can also use the TUNER or TAPE IN-
connection, but never the PHONO input!
3 ESI BUS (Enhanced System Intelligence)
For connecting up the equipment when you
are incorporating the player in a HiFi system
with ESI BUS connection (e.g. the PHILIPS
910 — 950 series).
4 IR SENSOR OFF ON (CD 920 only)
Switching the I(nfra) R(ed) SENSOR on and off.
IMPORTANT!
When the player is incorporated in a HiFi-
system with ESI BUS connection, this switch
should always be in the OFF position.
The player can. then be operated with the
remote control of the system. ste
When the player is not incorporated in a a HEL a
system .with ESI BUS connection, the switch
should be in the ON position. pe
The player can then be operated with the
remote control supplied (CD 920 only).
When switching the IR SENSOR. on-and off,
the CD player should always be switched off.
