centre will remove the batteries for you and will dispose of them in
an environmentally safe way (Fig. 25).
Removing the rechargeable batteries
Onlyremovetherechargeablebatteriesiftheyarecompletelyempty.
Neverlettherechargeablebatteriescomeintocontactwithmetal.
Remove the rechargeable batteries in the following way.
1 Letthevacuumcleanerrununtilitstops.
Try to switch on the appliance again to check if the batteries are really
empty. If the motor starts, repeat the procedure.
2 Loosenandremovethescrews.Openthevacuumcleaner(Fig.26).
3 Putthemotorunitwiththebatteriesstillattachedinalargebowl
with3litresofwaterand3teaspoonsofsalt.
- Make sure the whole motor unit is immersed. Add more water and
salt according to the above proportion (1 teaspoon salt to 1 litre of
water) if needed.
- Leave the motor unit and the batteries in the bowl for 24 hours.
4 Cuttheconnectingwiresonebyoneandremovethe
batteries(Fig.27).
