Function Description

The shaver is designed for use on dry skin, and optimal results are achieved after a period of adaptation, typically 2-3 weeks, as the skin adjusts to the Philips Shave system. The shaving heads are designed to be replaced every two years to maintain optimal shaving performance.

The shaver operates within a temperature range of 5°C to 35°C. It is compatible with mains voltages ranging from 100 to 240 V, making it suitable for international travel. The device is supplied with a power cord for connection to an electrical outlet. The shaving heads are of the HQ4 Micro Action type, ensuring effective and precise shaving.

Usage Features

Connecting the Shaver: To connect the shaver, first insert the appliance plug into the shaver, then insert the powerplug into the wall socket.

Shaving: To begin shaving, switch on the appliance by sliding the on/off button upwards. Move the shaving heads quickly over your skin, making both straight and circular movements. For best results, use on dry skin. After shaving, switch off the appliance. To protect the shaver and prevent damage, put the protection cap on the shaver.

Trimming: The trimmer is activated by pushing the slide upwards. It can be used for grooming sideburns and moustaches. The trimmer can be activated while the motor is running.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: Regular cleaning is crucial for maintaining optimal shaving performance. The Philips Shave Action Clean (shaving head cleaner, type HQ100) is recommended for easy and optimal cleaning.

Cleaning the Shaving Unit (Weekly):

Switch the shaver off, remove the powerplug from the wall socket, and pull the appliance plug out of the shaver.
Clean the top of the appliance first, using the brush supplied.
Remove the shaving unit.
Clean the inside of the shaving unit and the hair chamber with the brush.
Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver.

Cleaning the Shaving Heads (Every Two Months):

Switch the shaver off, remove the powerplug from the wall socket, and pull the appliance plug out of the shaver.
Remove the shaving unit.
Turn the wheel anticlockwise and remove the retaining frame.
Remove and clean the shaving heads (cutters and guards) one by one. It is important not to mix up the cutters and the guards, as each cutter has been ground with its corresponding guard for optimal performance. If accidentally mixed, it may take several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored.
Clean the cutter with the short-bristled side of the brush. Brush carefully in the direction of the arrow.
Brush the guard. If necessary, the shaving unit can be cleaned with a degreasing liquid (e.g., alcohol). Remember to lubricate the central point of the guards with a drop of sewing machine oil after cleaning.
Reassemble the shaving unit by replacing the retaining frame. Press the wheel and turn it clockwise.
Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver.

Cleaning the Trimmer (After Each Use):

Switch the shaver off, remove the powerplug from the wall socket, and pull the appliance plug out of the shaver.
Brush the trimmer.
Lubricate the trimmer teeth with a drop of sewing machine oil every six months.

Troubleshooting: If the shaver does not work after the on/off button has been slid upwards, check whether the appliance plug has been properly inserted into the shaver. If the shaver still does not work, refer to the "Guarantee & service" section.
