Function Description:

The Industrial Managed PoE+ Switch offers a comprehensive set of features for network reliability, security, and management:

  • Redundant Ring Technology: Supports ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) and Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1s MSTP) for rapid self-recovery (as fast as 10ms) in industrial automation networks, preventing interruptions and intrusions.
  • Intelligent Powered Device Alive Check: Monitors connected PD status in real-time via ping. If a PD stops responding, the switch recycles the PoE port power to bring it back online, enhancing network reliability and reducing administrative burden.
  • PoE Schedule for Energy Saving: Allows activation or inactivation of PoE power feeding for each port during specified time intervals, contributing to energy savings.
  • Robust Layer 2 Features: Includes dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), Layer 2/4 QoS, bandwidth control, and IGMP/MLD snooping for advanced switch management.
  • IPv6/IPv4 Full-function Secure Switch: Supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, advanced L2 to L4 data switching, redundancy, QoS traffic control, network access control, authentication, and secure management features.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 VLAN Routing: Enables crossover between different VLANs and IP addresses for secure, flexible management and simplified networking.
  • Intelligent SFP Diagnosis Mechanism (SFP-DDM): Monitors real-time SFP parameters like optical output/input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
  • Flexible and Extendable Solution: Features 100BASE-FX and 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP fiber-optic modules, allowing flexible selection of transceivers based on transmission distance or speed.
  • 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP): Supports MEF service delivery and timing over packet solutions for IEEE 1588 PTP and synchronous Ethernet, crucial for industrial computing networks.
  • Industrial Protocol: Supports Modbus TCP for real-time monitoring in SCADA systems and IEEE 1588v2 PTP.
  • Digital Input and Digital Output: Allows detection of external device status (e.g., door intrusion) via Digital Input and sending event alarms to administrators. Digital Output can alarm administrators for link-down, link-up, or power-dead events.

Usage Features:

  • Management Interfaces: Equipped with console, Web, and SNMP management interfaces.
    • Web-based Management: Provides an easy-to-use, platform-independent interface via a standard web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or later recommended).
    • CLI Mode Management: Offers Cisco-like commands via Telnet or console port for system administration, displaying statistics, and changing settings.
    • SNMP-based Network Management: Compatible with external SNMP-based applications (e.g., HP Openview, What’s Up Gold) using SNMP v1, v2c, and v3 for secure access.
  • PLANET Smart Discovery Utility: Simplifies deployment management by easily listing devices in the Ethernet environment, allowing configuration of MAC Address, Device Name, firmware version, IP Subnet address, and passwords.
  • Auto-Negotiation: STP ports automatically set the best possible bandwidth, speed, and duplex mode when connecting to another network device.
  • Port Mirroring: Allows monitoring network traffic by forwarding a copy of incoming or outgoing packets from one port to another for analysis.
  • VLAN Support: IEEE 802.1Q tagged VLAN, Q-in-Q tunneling, Private VLAN Edge (PVE), MAC-based VLAN, Protocol-based VLAN, Voice VLAN, and GVRP.
  • Link Aggregation: Supports Static LAGs (Port Trunk) and LACP LAGs to increase bandwidth and provide link redundancy.
  • Quality of Service (QoS): Advanced traffic prioritization features including classification, DiffServ Code Point (DSCP), service levels, policies, and QoS profiles to manage network congestion, reduce delay, and improve performance.
  • Security Features: Access Security (Access Control Lists, Port Security), DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard, and ARP Inspection to prevent unauthorized access and spoofing attacks.
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) Management: Includes total PoE power budget control, per-port PoE function enable/disable, admin-mode control, port power feeding priority, port power limit, and PD classification detection.
  • Intelligent PoE Features: Temperature threshold control, PoE usage threshold control, PD alive check, and PoE schedule.

Maintenance Features:

  • Firmware Upgrade: Web-based firmware upgrade functionality.
  • Configuration Management: Save startup configuration, download/upload configuration files (running-config, startup-config, default-config), and activate configurations.
  • Factory Default Reset: Option to reset the switch to factory default settings via the web interface or a physical reset button.
  • Diagnostics: Includes Ping (ICMPv4/ICMPv6) for troubleshooting IP connectivity and Cable Diagnostics for identifying cable length and common faults on copper cables.
