9. Tighten the clamp on the air filter.
TORQUE
Clamp: 2.6-3.25 ft-lbs (3.5-4.4 Nm)
10. Close the hood.
DRIVE BELT CONDITION
Adjust drive belt tension after the first 2,500 miles (4,000 km) of operation.
Replace the drive belt

and both sprockets as a set if the drive belt has over
30,000 miles (48,000 km) of service at the time of damage or failure.
When inspecting the drive belt for signs of wear, refer to the Drive Belt Wear
Analysis table on the next page to determine whether the belt needs to be
replaced. See the SLINGSHOT Service Manual or an authorized dealer for more
information.
DO NOT attempt to check belt tension if the belt has been exposed to rain or
washing within a 24 hour period or if the belt is hot from being in use. Allow the
belt to cool down to ambient temperature before measuring belt tension.
