IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If this is your first me using the Easy-Read Digital Kitchen Scale please be sure to remove the protecve insulaon tape from the baery compartment and protecve sheet
from the weighing plaorm before use.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
1. If the baery symbol appears on the display, it is recommended to replace with new baeries to ensure opmum accuracy of the scale.
2. If the display shows ‘Lo’ and shuts off automacally, please replace the baeries immediately.
TO INSTALL / CHANGE BATTERIES
Warning: baeries may pose a choking hazard. Do not let children handle baeries.
This item uses four AAA baeries. In order to ensure proper performance, be sure to replace baeries as a simultaneous set. Baeries should be removed from the scale if
consumed or if the product is to be le unused for a duraon of me. It is recommended to clean all baery contacts prior to installaon. Do not mix old and new baeries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc), or rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium) baeries.
Always purchase the correct size and grade of baery most suitable for the intended use.
Replace all baeries of a set at the same me.
Ensure all baeries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).
Remove used baeries promptly.
1. Baery door is located on the back of the unit.
2. Press and pull open the baery cover.
3. Insert four AAA size baeries as shown:

DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
Baeries may contain hazardous substances which could endanger the environment and human health.
This symbol marked on the baery and/or packaging indicates that used baery shall not be treated as municipal waste. Instead it shall be le at the appropriate
collecon point for recycling. By ensuring the used baeries are disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potenal negave consequences for the environment and
human health. The recycling of materials will help conserve natural resources.
For more informaon about collecon and recycling of used baeries, please contact your local municipality, your waste disposal service or the point of sale where you
purchased this product.
TO TURN THE SCALE ON/OFF:
Place item on a flat surface before use.
1. Press the (ON/OFF) buon to turn scale ON. “HI” will display and aer a few seconds a “0” (for g) or “ 0.0” (for lb & oz) will appear.
The scale is ready to use.
2. Press the (ON/OFF) buon to turn scale OFF.
NOTE: The backlit display will turn off aer 30-seconds without use, however the scale is sll on and funconing. Tap the weighing surface to re-illuminate display. The
auto shut-off feature will turn the scale off if not used for 3 minutes.
TO SWITCH BETWEEN lb AND g:
HOW TO USE TARE (addive weighing) FEATURE:
When using the TARE funcon, starng weight should not exceed 2.10 lb. / 950 g.
1. Place first item on scale, scale will display weight of item.
2. Press (TARE) buon. Display will revert to “0” (for g) or “0:0.0” (for lb. and oz.).
3. Place second item on scale, scale will display weight of item.
4. Press (TARE) buon. Display will revert to “0” (for g) or “0:0.0” (for lb. and oz.).
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 unl all items have been weighed.
NOTE: there are two ways to set the scale at “0” when weighing items in a container.
1. Place the container on the scale before turning it ON.
2. If the scale is already ON, place the container on the scale and press the (TARE) buon which will revert the scale to “0” (for g) or “0:0.0” (for lb. and oz.).
NOTE: the scale will read “O-Ld” if weight on scale is above the scale‘s capacity of 11.0 lb. / 5,000 g.

With the scale off, turn on the scale and immediately tap the (ON/OFF) buon again while the display reads “HI”. Its important to note that this is a gentle double
tap to switch between pounds and grams. No need to press. If there is too much of a delay between turning the scale on and tapping again, the scale will not
switch between reading modes. Turn the scale off and try again.
CAPACITY: 11.0 lb. / 5,000 g. (displays in 0.1 oz. / 1.00 gram increments).

Switching Units

Lb and Grams Conversion

With scale off, turn on and immediately double tap (ON/OFF) to switch between lbs and grams.

Tare Feature

Additive Weighing

Use TARE button to zero scale after adding items for cumulative weight.

Tare with Container

Place container on scale before turning on, or press TARE after placing container.
