REGULAR MAINTENANCE
Diaphragm Maintenance
Your KoiAir
compressor will need a rebuild kit (KoiAir™-1 Item #120926, KoiAir™-2
Item #120927) every 12–36 months depending on: Operating depth, air quality and
operating temperature. If your compressor is operating but there is no air coming out of
the diffusers, you will generally find that it is time to replace your diaphragm. See the
top cover of compressor for instructions on replacing the diaphragm.
Membrane Stick Maintenance
No maintenance required. Replace membrane stick (#510165) if visible damage or if
system has poor performance.
Air Filter Cleaning
Unscrew the cover on the back of the compressor and pull off the filter cover to expose
the air filter. Remove the air filter and brush away any dust particles. Air filter is designed
to last the lifetime of the compressor. Replacement is not needed.
MAINTENANCE SAFETY
Always use parts that are supplied or approved by Airmax
®
Ecosystems, Inc. Use of
other parts may result in poor performance and could create a hazardous situation.
Always unplug the system from the outlet and refer servicing to a qualified electrician
under the following conditions:
1. When the power cord is damaged or frayed.
2. If the compressor is producing unusual noises or odors.
PRODUCT WARRANTY
The KoiAir
Aeration System comes with a 3-Year Limited Warranty (3-Year warranty
on compressor, 1-Year warranty on diaphragm). This limited warranty is extended
exclusively to the original purchaser and begins from the date of original purchase
receipt. Airstones, airline and replacement diaphragms are wearable items and are not
covered by this warranty. Abuse or misuse of this product voids all warranty. Any sign of
water damage inside the unit voids all warranty. For warranty claims, product must be
returned to the original place of purchase with original receipt.

Important Information

Electrical and Operational Safety

Avoid extension cords, protect power cord, never override interlocks, and call for service if unusual noises/odors occur.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter

This unit requires a circuit protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for electric shock reduction.

Winter Operations

Danger of Thin Ice

Operating in freezing conditions creates thinner ice around diffusers, posing a fall hazard. Owner assumes risk.

Winter Storage

If turning off system for winter, unplug, remove components, and store in a dry, protected area.

Getting to Know Your KoiAir System

System Components

Identifies the main components of the KoiAir system: Compressor, Control Valves, Airline, and Diffuser.

Installing Your KoiAir Aeration System

Compressor Placement

Elevate compressor above pond level, near power source. Consider a protective cover for weather protection.

Airline and Diffuser Setup

Connect airline to compressor and diffuser. Place diffuser away from deepest point, not exceeding 4' depth.

Balancing Airflow (KoiAir 2)

Adjust control valves on KoiAir 2 to balance airflow between diffusers if desired; it does not affect compressor life.
