To insure proper operation of your pump and receive maximum life of this product, it is important that you

read the owners manual completely.

PondBuilder™ PUMP INFORMATION

PondBuilder™ products are created by experienced pond professionals. ese multi-purpose submersible

pumps are designed for use in water garden and Koi pond ltration systems, and to create waterfalls, streams

and water features. ey can also be used for other drainage applications, such as draining swimming pools,

and clearing water from a ooded basement.

Clear Water models are suitable for pumping clear ltered water, such as when using a PondBuilder™ Pond

Skimmer. Solids Handling pumps can be used for dirty water containing solid particles up to 1.18 inches

(30mm) in size. e temperature of the water being pumped must never exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Do

not pump salty water, sewage, inammable, corrosive or explosive liquids (e.g. petrol, fuel, diluents),

greases, oils, or foodstus.

For Your Safety

e power cord must never be used to carry or move the pump.

Always use the pump’s handle.

e pump should be unplugged before taking any action on the pump including placing it

into or removing it from the water.

Never remove the plug from the power socket by pulling on the power cord.

If the power supply cord has been damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or his

authorized customer support service in order to avoid all risks.

Installing the pump

• Donotplacethepumpwhereitcanbecomecloggedwithdebrisorgravel.Donotsetthepumponthe

bottom of the pond to prevent the pump from draining the pond. Monitor the pump regularly to make

sure the intake remains unclogged.

• Plugthepumpintoagroundfaultinterrupter(GFCI)protectedoutletthatisinadryplace,protected

against any risk of ooding. Verify that the power supply voltage and frequency match the specications

on the pump nameplate.

Winter Operation

e pump may be run during cold weather, but it is absolutely essential to prevent the pump housing and

PVCpipefromfreezing.Intheeventicemayfreezearoundthepump,removethepumpfromthewater,

empty it and place it where it cannot freeze.

Overload Protection

epumphasathermaloverloadsafetydevice.Intheeventofanyoverheatingofthemotor,thisdevice

automatically switches o the pump. e cooling time is roughly 15 to 20 minutes, then the pump auto-

maticallycomesonagain.Iftheoverloadcutoutistripped,itisessentialtoidentifyanddealwiththecause

of the overheating.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING

Before taking any troubleshooting action, disconnect the pump from the power supply by

removing the plug from the socket.

Problem

Solutions

• Plugcordsecurelyintothe socket and check

if there is voltage on the line.

• Disconnectthepowercord,disassemblehydraulic

part and check if impeller is free to run.

• Checktoseeifthecircuitprotectorneeds

to be reset.

• Stopthepump,donotrunthepumpdry.

• Gettheairoutbyplungingagainthepump

while in a tilted position and shake it with the

discharge tube open.

• Disconnectthepowercord,cleanthe

pump bottom.

• Disconnectthepowercord:takeothetube

and clean it.

Disconnectthepowercord,correctthereason

for overheating; then wait until the pump is

cooled, plug the cord and resume operation.

General operating conditions:

Maximum water temperature: Never exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Not suitable for pumping salty water, sewage, inflammable, corrosive, or explosive liquids (e.g., petrol, fuel, diluents), greases, oils, or foodstuffs.

Usage Features:

Installation: Pumps can be installed in a pond skimmer or directly into a pond in either a vertical or horizontal position. Note that "Solids Handling 5040 & 6600" models are for vertical installation only. All models include an elbow, and Teflon tape should be used when attaching fittings.
Submersion: The pump must remain fully submersed while running; running it dry will void the warranty.
Placement: Avoid placing the pump where it can become clogged with debris or gravel. Do not set it directly on the bottom of the pond to prevent the pump from draining the pond completely. Regular monitoring is recommended to ensure the intake remains unclogged.
Electrical Connection: The pump must be plugged into a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected outlet located in a dry place, protected against flooding. Verify that the power supply voltage and frequency match the pump's nameplate specifications.
Winter Operation: The pump can be run in cold weather, but it is crucial to prevent the pump housing and PVC pipe from freezing. If ice may form around the pump, it should be removed from the water, emptied, and stored in a non-freezing location.
Safety Precautions:
- Always use the pump's handle for carrying or moving the pump; never use the power cord.
- Always unplug the pump before taking any action, including placing it into or removing it from the water.
- Never remove the plug by pulling on the power cord.
- If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service agent to avoid risks.

Overload Protection: The pump is equipped with a thermal overload safety device that automatically switches off the pump if it overheats. After cooling for approximately 15-20 minutes, the pump will automatically restart. If the overload cutout trips, it is essential to identify and address the cause of overheating before resuming operation.

  - Solutions: Disconnect power, correct the reason for overheating, wait for the pump to cool, then plug the cord and resume operation.

Warranty:

PondBuilder™ pumps come with an 18-month limited warranty against defective material and workmanship under normal use, starting from the date of purchase. This warranty is valid only if the pump is registered within 60 days of purchase. Replacement liability is limited to repairing or replacing defective parts at PondBuilder™'s discretion. Proof of purchase (invoice copy, sales ticket, etc.) is required for all claims. The warranty is void if the pump is not installed according to the instructions provided in the manual. All returned pumps will be inspected to determine the cause of failure. This limited warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, expressed or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. It grants specific legal rights, which may vary by state.
