What to do if the Portek Log Splitter motor does not run?
    • J
      John HebertAug 4, 2025
If the Portek Log Splitter's motor isn't running, first, ensure the splitter is properly plugged in. If it is, check if the motor Reset has tripped and push the Reset Button. Also, the circuit breaker might need to be reset. If the electric cable is damaged, do not use the unit until it has been checked by a competent electrician.

Why my Portek Log Splitter does not have full splitting power?
    • D
      Dorothy SimpsonAug 10, 2025
If your Portek Log Splitter doesn't seem to have full splitting power, ensure the extension cable is no more than 10m long and is not smaller than 1.5mm2 wire. Longer extensions will need a higher rating. Also, check the belt for slipping or damage and replace it if necessary.

What to do if the log fails to split in Portek CHARGER?
    • J
      jonathan23Aug 21, 2025
If a log fails to split in your Portek Log Splitter, first, re-position the log flat on the splitting beam with the end squarely against the Wedge. If the log is difficult to split and requires a few attempts, ensure the motor and flywheel are up to speed before repeating the splitting process. The log may exceed permitted dimensions or the wood may be too hard or knotty.
