Why won't my Power Stroke PS906025 start?
    • J
      Jeffrey ThompsonJul 27, 2025
If your Power Stroke Portable Generator's engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank has gasoline and that it isn't stale or contaminated with water; if necessary, drain the system and refill with fresh fuel. Check the engine lubricant level, as the engine is equipped with a Low Oil Shutoff. Make sure the fuel valve is turned on. Inspect the spark plug for faults, fouling, or improper gapping, and replace it if needed. Ensure the choke lever is in the START position. If the generator was stored without proper fuel treatment or has been refueled with bad gasoline, drain the fuel and carburetor, then refuel with fresh gasoline. Lastly, a dirty fuel filter could be the culprit; replace it or contact an authorized service center.
