Overview

This document describes the YouthPower On/Off Hybrid Solar Storage System, a series of battery units designed for solar energy storage applications. The system leverages LiFePO4 battery technology, known for its safety and longevity, to provide reliable power solutions.

Function Description

The YouthPower system functions as a hybrid solar storage solution, capable of integrating with both on-grid and off-grid solar inverters. It stores energy generated from solar panels for later use, ensuring a continuous power supply even when solar generation is low or unavailable. The system is designed for ease of use with features like a touch LCD display for monitoring and control, and communication interfaces for integration with inverters.

Usage Features

  • LiFePO4 Composition: Provides exceptional safety and longevity, with high safety and reliability.
  • Long Service Life: Boasts 6,000 cycles and a 20-year service life.
  • Consistent Performance: Maintains performance over a wide temperature range.
  • Wall-mounted Installation: Designed for convenient wall-mounted installation.
  • Integrated BMS: Features an integrated state-of-the-art Battery Management System (BMS) that manages and monitors battery information, including voltage, current, temperature, and balances cell charging/discharging rates.
  • Warranty: Comes with a 5-10 years warranty.
  • Display Function: Equipped with a Press Key LCD or Finger Touch LCD for displaying system status, battery parameters, and alarms. The display allows users to navigate through menus, view real-time data, and access various settings.
  • Communication Interfaces: Includes CANbus/RS485 for active communication with inverters, and USB to RS232 for dynamic monitoring data from a computer. An "Address" portal is reserved for multiple parallel connections.
  • Wake-Up Button (RST): A dedicated button to power on or shut down the battery. Pressing for 3 seconds activates the battery (LEDs flicker from RUN to lowest capacity indicator) or shuts it down (LEDs flicker from lowest capacity indicator to RUN).
  • Parallel Connection: Supports parallel use of multiple battery units (up to 15 units recommended 2-4 units for 5-10KWH models) to increase total storage capacity. For 5-10KWH models, direct plug-and-play as a lead-acid type is possible with off-grid 48VDC solar inverters, even without Canbus/RS485 communication if the inverter lacks the port. For 15-20KWH models and hybrid inverters, consultation with YouthPower sales managers is advised for proper connection and ADS guide line settings.
  • Battery Status Indicators: LEDs for RUN, ALM (Alarm), and CAPACITY (SOC) provide visual feedback on the battery's operational status, warnings, and charge level.
  • Dormancy/Shutdown: The system enters a dormancy/shutdown state after 1 minute of inactivity (no keystrokes) on the LCD. Any key press can reactivate the screen.
