What causes a sizzling, rumbling noise in my PowerFlex POWER VENTED GAS Models?
    • P
      Paul HarrisSep 9, 2025
A sizzling, rumbling noise is typically caused by scale and sediment buildup; drain and flush the tank, and consider water treatment. It can also be due to condensation dripping on the burner.

What causes smelly water from my PowerFlex POWER VENTED GAS Models?
    • C
      Christine RomanSep 12, 2025
Smelly water can be attributed to sulfides or bacteria in the water supply, which may require a chlorination procedure. Another cause could be an incompatible anode, which would need replacement with one appropriate for your water conditions.

What to do if the gas control valve/thermostat fails to shut off on my PowerFlex Water Heater?
    • A
      Amy BurgessSep 13, 2025
If the gas control valve/thermostat fails to shut off, it is likely defective and needs to be replaced.

    Robert ShortSep 15, 2025
Why is my PowerFlex Water Heater's blower running continuously?
    • T
      Tiffany WiseSep 15, 2025
A blower that runs continuously can be due to several reasons. The air pressure switch might not be closing due to insufficient draft; determine the cause and check the draft with a manometer at the pressure switch. Possible causes of insufficient draft include blocked vent piping (remove the blockage), piping length being too long (reduce vent length/increase vent size), or a clogged/dirty blower (clean the blower wheel). Other causes include a disconnected, torn, or blocked pressure switch hose (reconnect or replace it), a defective pressure switch (replace it), or a high limit switch open due to excessive vent temperature or a defective switch (determine the cause of overheating, checking for overfiring, insufficient air supply, or high ambient air temperature).

Why am I unable to light the burner on my PowerFlex POWER VENTED GAS Models?
    • T
      Tara NelsonSep 18, 2025
If you're unable to light the burner, it could be due to air in the gas line; purge the air from the line. Check the pressure switch and ensure the hose isn't kinked. A blocked exhaust could also be the issue; inspect the vent pipe for blockage. Also, check all wire connections. Finally, the gas control valve/thermostat might be defective and require replacement.
