      If your Powermate Lawn Mower engine is difficult to start, possible causes include: the fuel tank is empty (add fresh fuel); the start lever is not compressed (pull start lever against handle); the choke is in the wrong position (rotate choke lever to “Choke / Cold Start” position); the spark plug wire is disconnected (attach spark plug wire to spark plug); the spark plug is fouled (inspect and replace if necessary); the carburetor is dirty (take unit to an authorized service center for cleaning); the air filter is clogged (remove and clean air filter); the fuel filter is clogged (inspect and replace if necessary); or the fuel is contaminated (drain and clean the fuel tank, then fill with fresh fuel).

These include: not enough engine oil (add engine oil); improper engine oil level (check and adjust as needed); a fouled spark plug (inspect and replace if necessary); a clogged air filter (remove and clean it); a clogged fuel filter (inspect and replace it if needed); contaminated fuel (drain, clean, and refill with fresh fuel); a carburetor out of adjustment (take the unit to an authorized service center); or the choke being in the wrong position (rotate to “Run / Warm Start”).
