Why does my Powersmart Snow Blower engine fail to start but cranks over?
- SSean SmithAug 21, 2025
If your Powersmart Snow Blower engine fails to start but cranks over, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the engine ignition switch is in the ON position. Check that the spark plug wire is connected and the spark plug isn't faulty (clean, adjust the gap, or replace it). If the engine is flooded, discontinue choke or primer use and clean or replace the spark plug. Make sure the safety key is fully inserted. Also, verify the choke is in the START position, and prime the engine if needed. Finally, check that the fuel tank isn't empty and the fuel isn't old or contaminated with water. The fuel vent cap should not be blocked, and the engine oil level should be at the correct level (16 ounces).
