Why Powerx PA6 Water Pump unit does not operate and air bypasses?
    • J
      Jeffrey KingAug 4, 2025
If your Powerx Water Pump isn't operating and air is bypassing, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure you have 90 PSI @ 10 CFM of air supplied. Insufficient air supply can prevent operation. Second, the air supply may lack ample lubrication; use a recommended premium air tool lubrication, applying 1 drop per minute into the foot pump. Third, the air entrance plunger may have defective seals or be damaged, requiring seal or component replacement. Fourth, the air piston might be frozen, have worn seals, or the air valve could be defective; replace the O-ring and/or air piston assembly or lubricate it. Finally, completely clogged mufflers can prevent air passage; remove and clean or replace them, and check for water or rust in the air supply.

What to do if Powerx PA6 unit operates, but tooling does not move?

      cindy01Aug 20, 2025
If your Powerx Water Pump operates but the tooling doesn't move, and there's no or low hydraulic flow, several factors could be at play. The reservoir might not be vented, causing a vacuum; unclog the vent plug to resolve this. Another cause could be low or no oil in the reservoir; check the oil level when the tooling is fully retracted, ensuring it's ½” from the top of the oil tank cover, and verify your tooling requirement doesn't exceed the foot pump's oil capacity. A defective coupler not allowing flow is another possibility; ensure the coupler is fully seated or replace it if the ball seats are defective. Lastly, the oil entrance valve might be clogged; the oil inlet may be blocked with foreign matter or the seat may be defective.
