Function Description:

The Predator pressure washer is a gas-powered unit designed for outdoor residential use. Its primary function is to clean surfaces using a high-pressure water stream, which can be enhanced with detergent. The device is capable of intense cleaning for stubborn stains and dirt, heavy cleaning for decks and siding, standard cleaning for driveways and paint removal, and moderate cleaning for autos and boats. It features different nozzles to adjust spray patterns and pressure for various cleaning tasks and surfaces.

  • Starting the Engine: The manual details a manual start procedure involving choke adjustment (START for cold engine, RUN for warm engine), opening the fuel valve, turning on the engine switch, and pulling the starter handle.
  • Break-in Period: The engine requires a break-in period of approximately 20 hours of use, after which the engine oil should be changed.
  • Safety Features: Includes a trigger lock on the spray gun to prevent accidental discharge. The engine will shut off if the engine oil level is too low.
  • High Altitude Operation: For altitudes above 3000 ft, an altitude kit may be required to ensure efficient operation and prevent damage, as the fuel system can be influenced by higher elevations.
  • Folding and Storing: The handle can be folded forward for compact storage.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Maintenance Schedule: The manual provides a detailed maintenance schedule, including checks for engine oil, air cleaner, sediment cup, spark plug, valve clearance, fuel tank, and carburetor.
  • Engine Oil Change: Instructions are provided for draining and refilling engine oil, with recommendations for SAE 10W-30 oil and a viscosity grade chart based on outdoor temperature.
  • Fuel System Maintenance: Emphasizes using fresh, stabilizer-treated unleaded gasoline and cleaning the fuel cap and strainer. Warnings against using gasoline with high ethanol content are prominent.
  • Spark Plug Maintenance: Instructions for disconnecting, cleaning, inspecting, gapping, and reinstalling the spark plug.

  • Troubleshooting Guide: A section dedicated to common problems like the engine not starting, misfiring, stopping suddenly, knocking, backfiring, or issues with pressure and detergent intake, along with probable causes and solutions.
  • Warranty: The emissions control system is warranted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board. Warranty information is provided at the end of the manual.
