  • Nozzle Selection: A nozzle selection chart guides users to choose the appropriate nozzle (Black - Low Pressure, White - Wide Spray, Green - Medium Spray, Yellow - Narrow Spray, Red - Pencil Spray) for different cleaning tasks and surfaces. The Black Nozzle is specifically for use with pressure washer detergent.
  • Detergent Application: A detergent siphon tube allows for the application of pressure washer detergents at low pressure.
  • Starting the Engine: A manual start process involves turning the pressure regulator counterclockwise, setting the choke (START for cold, RUN for warm), opening the fuel valve, and sliding the throttle to 1/3 away from the SLOW position before pulling the starter handle. The engine switch must be ON.
  • Safety Precautions: Emphasizes operating outdoors due to carbon monoxide hazard, keeping children away, avoiding hot parts, and not directing the water jet at people or animals. It also warns against dry running the pump and prolonged idling with the trigger held down to prevent damage and burns.
  • High Altitude Operation: Instructions are provided for adjusting the carburetor for operation above 2000 feet, which may require an altitude kit to maintain performance and warranty.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the pressure washer.

  • Pre-Start Checks: Before each use, users must inspect for damaged or missing parts, check and fill engine oil, and check and fill fuel.
  • Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication Schedule: A detailed schedule outlines tasks to be performed before each use, monthly (every 20 hr), every 3 months (50 hr), every 6 months (100 hr), yearly (300 hr), and every 2 years. These tasks include brushing off the engine, checking oil levels, checking air cleaner, changing engine and pump oil, cleaning/replacing air filter, checking/cleaning spark plug, and checking fuel system components. Some tasks require a qualified technician.
  • Engine Oil Change: Instructions for safely draining and refilling engine oil, with recommendations for SAE 10W-30 oil and a viscosity grade chart for different temperatures.
  • Spark Plug Maintenance: Includes steps for disconnecting, cleaning, inspecting, gapping, and reinstalling the spark plug.
  • Air Filter Maintenance: Describes how to remove, clean (for paper and foam filters), and reinstall the air filter.
  • Long-Term Storage: Comprehensive instructions for preparing the engine for storage if it will be idle for more than 20 days. This includes cleaning, fuel treatment with stabilizer, lubrication (changing engine oil, adding oil to cylinder), and pump preparation (draining water, adding RV antifreeze). It also outlines procedures for every 3 months during storage and steps to take after storage before restarting the engine.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: Provides a list of common problems (engine not starting, misfires, stops suddenly, knocks, backfires, pressure issues, detergent intake issues), possible causes, and probable solutions to help users diagnose and resolve issues.

The manual strongly advises reading all safety instructions and performing maintenance as specified to prevent serious injury and equipment failure, emphasizing that many procedures require a qualified technician.
