The Princess House ActivePure® Surface & Air Guardian Portable Air Purification System (Model: A1040F, Item Number: 10500, Sales Number: 00790) is designed to provide 24/7 surface and air purification using tested ActivePure Technology. This device is CARB certified and meets California ozone emissions limits.
Function Description:
The ActivePure® Surface & Air Guardian Portable Air Purification System utilizes ActivePure Technology, a HEPA filter screen, an activated carbon filter, and multiple carbon brushes to capture contaminants and purify the air and surfaces in a given space. It is designed for use in contiguous spaces up to 2,000 sq. ft. (185 m²) depending on occupant density and other factors, with high-density commercial spaces not to exceed 500 sq. ft. (46 m²). The system operates by drawing in air, filtering it through a multi-stage process, and then releasing purified air and ActivePure molecules to treat surfaces.

Usage Features:
The unit features an intuitive control panel with an LED display that shows current settings and maintenance reminders.
- Power Button: Turns the unit ON/OFF.
- Fan Speed Control: An adjustable five-speed fan allows users to control the airflow rate.
- ActivePure Modes:
- A-PURE: The unit's display shows the fan speed (low to high) and A-PURE to indicate that the ActivePure Cell Assemblies (2) and carbon brushes are both functioning normally.
- A-PURE x2: A-PURE x2 lights up, indicating that the ActivePure Cell Assemblies and carbon brushes are both functioning normally.
- Carbon Brush Mode (Ion): When lit, indicates that carbon brushes are functioning.
- Clean Indicator: Illuminates when cleaning is required.
- Reset Button: Clears maintenance reminders after performing routine maintenance.
- Cell Indicator: The Cell light will flicker when it is time to replace the ActivePure Cell Assemblies (2). If it flashes red, it indicates that the ActivePure Cell Assemblies (2) are not properly installed or are possibly damaged.
- Placement: The unit should be placed in an appropriate location, at least four feet higher than the ground, and away from objects that may obstruct airflow. It should not be operated near heat sources, open flames, or combustible vapors/gases.
- Warm-up: Allow the unit to warm to room temperature before operating to prevent damage.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and to maintain the warranty. The unit's LED display will brighten and flash when maintenance is required.
- Unplug Before Maintenance: Always unplug the unit before performing any maintenance procedures.
- Filter Assembly Cleaning/Replacement:
- The "CLEAN" indicator will come on approximately every 180 days, but it is recommended to perform cleaning every 30 days for optimal performance.
- To clean, remove the Rear Filter Assembly (by pressing the top of the back cover, lifting the back panel, unscrewing the filter assembly, and lifting it out) and vacuum heavy particulate.
- If the Filter Assembly cannot be cleaned by vacuuming, it should be replaced. Filter Assembly life varies based on the operating environment. Replacement Filter Assembly (Part Number: 10501) can be ordered.
- The optional HEPA Filter Sheet, if used, protects the unit from indoor contaminants, reduces maintenance, helps reduce odors, and is great for kitchen environments and reducing VOC gases. Removing it increases airflow.
- ActivePure® Cell Assemblies Replacement:
- The ActivePure Cell Assemblies (2) should be replaced every 12 months from the date of purchase or when the "REPLACE ACTIVEPURE CELL" message appears on the display.
- The CELL indicator will light up if the ActivePure Cell Assemblies (2) are no longer working.
- To replace, unlock the connector, pull it out, remove two thumbscrews, and slide the assemblies out. Install new ActivePure Cell Assemblies (290 mA Bulb, Part Number: 10502) by inserting them parallel to the studs, securing with thumbscrews, and plugging in the connector.
- WARNING: Do not look directly at the glowing bulb, as prolonged exposure to UV light can cause eye damage. Only use genuine ActivePure replacement parts.
- General Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or solvents. Vacuum the Top and Rear Grills periodically to remove lint buildup. Vacuum the ActivePure Cell Assemblies (2) to remove lint; do not wash them with water.
- Resetting Reminders: After performing maintenance, press the Reminder Reset icon to clear the flashing indicator on the screen.
- Important Note: Do not operate the unit without the Filter Assembly and Back Cover properly installed. Failure to perform routine maintenance or using non-genuine parts will void the warranty.
