First, ensure the appliance is properly connected to a power supply by testing the socket with another device. Then, check that the swivel arm is correctly locked in the lowest position, as a safety switch prevents operation if it is not. Make sure the control knob is in the '0' position before selecting a speed setting. If the motor is too hot, the overheating protection might have activated; let the appliance cool down for at least 15 minutes before trying again.
