This document describes the Proline EXP1500 Coffee Maker, a device designed for domestic household use to prepare espresso and cappuccino.
Function Description
The Proline EXP1500 is a coffee maker that allows users to brew espresso and froth milk for cappuccino. Its main components include:
- Water Tank: A detachable reservoir for holding water, with a maximum fill line to prevent overflow.
- Power Switch: A button with a red indicator light that illuminates when the appliance is warming up.
- Coffee/Steam Switch: A button with a green indicator light that signals when the espresso coffee maker is ready for use. This switch allows selection between coffee brewing and steam generation modes.
- Metal Funnel: This component holds the ground espresso powder in a mesh filter. It attaches to the boiler outlet by positioning the handle to the left, pushing upwards, and turning to the right until it locks.
- Operation Knob: This knob controls the brewing process and steam generation. It has OFF, brewing, and steam positions.
- Steam Tube and Frothing Device: Used for frothing milk to create cappuccino. The frothing device should be placed just under the surface of the milk.
- Removable Cup Shelf and Drip Tray: These components collect any drips and provide a surface for placing cups.
- Espresso Spoon: A spoon provided for measuring and pressing ground espresso powder.

Usage Features
Before First Use:
- Ensure the appliance is switched off.
- Fill the water tank up to the MAX line.
- Close the tank cover and place the tank in the appliance.
- Attach the metal funnel to the appliance by aligning the handle to the left of the boiler outlet, pushing up, and turning right until it locks.
- Place a cup under the boiler outlet, ensuring the operation knob is in the OFF position.
- Plug in the appliance and press the power switch to ON. The red indicator light will illuminate, indicating warming up.
- Press the coffee/steam switch to the coffee position. The green indicator light will illuminate when ready.
- Set the operation knob to the brewing position. The espresso coffee maker will start operating.
- Repeat steps 2-3 times to flush out any material residues and ensure optimal taste.
- After use, switch the appliance off by turning the operation knob to OFF and allow it to cool.
Making Espresso:
- Fill the water tank with water, ensuring not to exceed the MAX line.
- Fill the steel mesh with ground espresso powder, distributing it evenly and pressing it tight with the rounded bottom of the provided spoon.
- Attach the metal funnel to the appliance as described in the "Before First Use" section.
- Place a cup (pre-heating the cup is recommended) under the boiler outlet.
- Ensure the green indicator light is on (wait if it's off), then turn the operation knob towards the brewing position.
- Once the desired quantity of espresso is obtained, stop the operation by turning the operation knob to the OFF position.
Making Cappuccino:
- Press the coffee/steam switch to the steam position.
- Wait for the green indicator light to illuminate.
- Fill a cup with 1/3 milk per cappuccino. The milk should be at refrigerator temperature. Note that milk volume increases by 2-3 times when frothed.
- Position the cup with milk on the cup shelf.
- Place the steam tube into the milk, ensuring the frothing device is just under the surface.
- Open the steam by turning the operation knob to the steam position. Warning: Steam is hot and can cause injuries.
- Move the cup up and down under the frothing device to create the desired milk froth.
- When sufficient foaming is achieved, turn the operation knob to the OFF position to stop steam generation.
- Pour espresso into the frothed milk and mix.
- For multiple cappuccinos, follow the instructions above, allowing the appliance to cool after each cycle.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning:
- Always remove the mains plug from the socket before cleaning.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
- Clean removable parts in hot soapy water, then rinse thoroughly.
- Regularly descale the appliance using a specific descaler.
Important Safety Instructions:
- Be careful not to get scalded by steam; direct it away from hands and fingers.
- Never switch the appliance on without water.
- Always allow the appliance to cool before attaching accessories and cleaning.
- This product is not a toy; keep out of reach of children.
- The filling aperture must not be opened during use.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
The appliance is intended for domestic household use only and should not be used for non-domestic or commercial purposes. Children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, can use the appliance if supervised and instructed on safe use and understanding of hazards. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are over 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years.
