1.3 Specific Warranty Coverage
The following items are covered under specific terms and conditions of warranty, where the Basic Warranty Coverage mentioned above would not apply. The
variation in the warranty coverage for specific items of components or class of components take into account the ordinary wear and tear caused by the usage,
operations and functionality:
1.3.1 Due to specific nature such as normal wear and tear in operations, the following components are specifically NOT COVERED above 36 months or 100,000
km, whichever occurs first, from the date of first registration:
1.3.1.1 Engine
Turbocharger, alternator, starter, cables, ignition coil, belts, 3-way catalytic converter, sensors, oil seals, rubber parts, bearings
1.3.1.2 Transmission
Wire & cable, sensor, release bearing, clutch pressure plate, dual mass flywheel, rubber parts
1.3.1.3 Cooling system
Thermostat, water pump, rubber parts
1.3.1.4 Chassis and Suspension
Shock absorbers, ball joint, rubber parts, brake disc, exhaust pipe
1.3.1.5 Electrical system
Cable, sensor, actuator, wiper motor, door lock, switches.
1.3.1.6 Body Interior & Exterior
Paint, glass, door regulator
1.3.1.7 Accessories & Others
Lamps, cigarette lighter, horn, multimedia system
1.3.2 The following components are covered by warranty within the period of 12 months from the date of vehicle’s first registration or 20,000 km, whichever
occurs first:
1.3.2.1 Battery
1.3.3 The following components are covered by warranty separately by the concerned manufacturers and not by PROTON:
1.3.3.1 Tyres
1.3.4 Anti-Perforation Warranty
PROTON will repair or replace any defective body sheet metal parts which could result in perforation (a hole through the body panel) due to corrosion from
inside towards the outside of the vehicle’s body panel, free of charge for a period within 84 months from the date of first registration of your Proton vehicle,
subject to terms and conditions. Refer to section “ANTI PERFORATION WARRANTY” on item 3 for details.
1.3.5 Due to specific nature of certain consumable parts, the following components are specifically NOT COVERED above 3 months or 5,000 km, whichever occurs
first, from the date of first registration:
