Glossary of Common Terms

LCD

“LCD” is an acronym for ”Liquid Crystal Display”. This is a common type

of display screen used in televisions, computers, watches, and digital

clocks.

BAROMETER & BAROMETRIC PRESSURE

A barometer is a device that measures the pressure of the air pushing on

it—this measurement is called the barometric pressure. We don’t

actually feel the barometric pressure because the air pressure is pushing

equally in every direction.

RELATIVE AIR PRESSURE

Relative air pressure is the same as the barometric pressure. The

calculation of relative air pressure is a combination of the absolute air

pressure and the altitude.

ABSOLUTE AIR PRESSURE

Absolute air pressure is the actual air pressure on the barometer without

regard to altitude.

  If your ProWeatherStation Weather Station isn't reporting data to Wunderground.com, here are a few things to check: * Make sure your Wunderground.com password or key is correct. Remember, it can't start with a non-alphanumeric character. * Verify your station ID is correct, paying close attention to potential O/0 substitutions. * Ensure the date, time, and time zone are correctly set on the console. Incorrect settings can cause old data to be reported. * Review your router firewall settings, as the console sends data via Port 80.

  If your ProWeatherStation Weather Station has no WiFi connection, here's what you can do: 1. Check for the WiFi symbol on the display. If the icon is displayed in the time field, the wireless connectivity is successful. 2. Ensure your modem WiFi settings are correct (network name and password). 3. Make sure the console is plugged into AC power. The console will not connect to WiFi when powered by batteries only. 4. The console only supports and connects to 2.4 GHz routers. If you own a 5 GHz router, and it is a dual band router, you will need to disable the 5 GHz band, and enable the 2.4 GHz band. 5. The console does not support guest networks.
