1. Visual inspection shall be made before each use of the engine leveler, checking for
cracks, cracked welds and missing and /or damaged parts. Any engine leveler that
appears to be damaged in any way shall be removed from service immediately

BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MISUSE OF
EQUIPMENT OF THIS TYPE, NO MODIFICATIONS SHALL BE MADE TO THE PRODUCT.
3. Periodic lubrication of engine leveler will ensure smooth operation. Apply grease to
bushings and threaded shaft.

DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous
situation that, if not avoided, WILL result in death
or serious injury.
WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous
situation that, if not avoided, COULD result in

CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous
situation that, if not avoided, MAY result in minor
or moderate injury.

WARNING! Failure to read, understand and follow these warnings may result in engine
leveler failure resulting in death, personal injury and/or property damage.
WARNING! Do not overload engine leveler beyond 1,500 lbs. Overloading can cause damage to or
failure of the engine leveler.
WARNING! Always use engine leveler in conjunction with crane or overhead hoist having a load
capacity of at least 1 ton (2,000 lbs.) Always use lifting device on hard, level surface capable of
sustaining the load.
WARNING! Boom and load must be in lowest possible position before moving. Move load slowly and
smoothly to avoid uncontrolled swinging and possible loss and load.
WARNING! Never leave suspended load unattended.
WARNING! Never work under load.
SAFETY INFORMATION

REFER TO VEHICLE MANUFACTURE’S APPROVED SERVICE MANUAL FOR PROPER
ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Attach engine leveler to crane or overheard hoist.
2. Attach angled brackets to engine head bolts, intake or other suitable position. Bolts
must be long enough to thread into engine block to a depth of at least 1/2 in. Make sure
all connections are tight before proceeding.
3. Raise engine leveler enough to remove slack from chains. Lower and adjust chains if
necessary.
4. Raise engine enough to check balance. Turn adjusting handle to balance engine if
necessary.
5. Refertovehiclemanufacturer’sapprovedservicemanualforproperengineremoval
procedure. Slowly raise engine, using adjusting handle to guide engine up and out of
engine compartment.
6. Secure engine to engine stand or suitable stand configuration. Never leave engine
hanging from lifting device.
