Overview

This document is an owner's manual for mobile type air conditioners, also referred to as local air conditioners. It provides comprehensive information on the device's functions, safety precautions, installation, operation, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The air conditioner is designed to provide cooling, heating (for heat pump models), dehumidification, and fan-only operation. It features an electronic control panel and can also be operated via a remote controller (for remote control models). The unit is mobile, equipped with casters for easy placement on smooth, level surfaces.

Operating Modes:

  • COOL Mode: Allows users to set the desired room temperature between 17°C (62°F) and 30°C (88°F) and select a fan speed (LOW, MED, HI, AUTO).
  • DRY Mode (Dehumidification): Operates at a low fan speed to dehumidify the room. Temperature and fan speed cannot be adjusted in this mode. Windows and doors should be kept closed for optimal effect.
  • HEAT Mode (Heat Pump Type): Allows users to set the desired room temperature between 17°C (62°F) and 30°C (88°F). Fan speed may not be adjustable in some heat pump models.
  • FAN Mode: Circulates air without cooling or heating. Temperature cannot be adjusted.
  • AUTO Mode: Automatically selects cooling, heating (for heat pump models), or fan-only operation based on the user-selected temperature and current room temperature. Fan speed is not adjustable in AUTO mode.
  • SLEEP/ECO Operation: Increases (cooling) or decreases (heating) the selected temperature by 1°C/2°F after 30 minutes, and again by another 1°C/2°F after an additional 30 minutes. This new temperature is maintained for 7 hours before returning to the original setting. This feature is unavailable in FAN or DRY mode.
  • TIMER Operation: Allows users to set an AUTO ON start time and AUTO OFF stop time program. The timer can be set in 0.5-hour increments up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.
  • SWING Feature (Optional): Automatically swings the horizontal louver blade up and down to distribute air. Pressing the SWING button stops the louver at the desired angle.
  • ION Feature (Optional): Initiated by pressing the FAN/ION button for 3 seconds, this feature energizes an ion generator to help remove pollen and impurities from the air, trapping them in the filter.

Important Technical Specifications (Operating Conditions):

  • COOL Mode Room Temperature: 17°C (62°F) ~ 35°C (95°F)
  • DRY Mode Room Temperature: 13°C (55°F) ~ 35°C (95°F)
  • HEAT Mode Room Temperature (Heat Pump Type): 5°C (41°F) ~ 30°C (88°F)
  • HEAT Mode Room Temperature (Electrical Heat Type): <30°C/88°F

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features buttons for Power, Sleep/ECO, Fan/ION, Up/Down temperature/timer adjustment, Mode selection, Timer, and Swing (optional). An LED display shows the set temperature or auto-timer settings.
  • Remote Control (Optional): Allows for remote operation and includes a "Follow Me/Temp Sensing" feature, which uses the remote as a thermostat for precise temperature control at its location.
  • Auto-Restart (on some models): In case of unexpected power loss, the unit will automatically restart with the previous function settings once power resumes.
  • 3-Minute Restart Delay: After the unit stops, it cannot be restarted for 3 minutes to protect the compressor.
  • Air Flow Direction Adjustment: The louver can be adjusted automatically via the SWING button. Manual adjustment is not recommended.
  • Error Codes: The unit displays error codes (E1, E2, E3, E4) for sensor or communication errors, and "P1" when the bottom tray is full, indicating a need for water drainage.

Installation:

  • Location: Place the unit on a firm, smooth, level surface, within reach of a properly rated grounded socket. Ensure 30-100cm of space from walls and no obstacles around air inlet/outlet grilles.
  • Window Slider Kit: Designed for most standard vertical and horizontal windows. The kit may require modification for certain window types. It can be fixed with a bolt. Foam seals are used to seal gaps.
  • Exhaust Hose Installation: The exhaust hose and adaptors (A and B) are installed for COOL, HEAT (heat pump type), or AUTO modes and removed for FAN, DEHUMIDIFY, or HEAT (electrical heat type) modes. The hose can be installed through a window kit or a prepared hole in a wall (for units with adaptor A, expansion plugs, and wooden screws). The hose should be kept as short as possible and not over-bent.
  • Water Drainage:
    • Dehumidifying Mode: Remove the upper drain plug and install a drain connector with a hose, directing it to a drain area.
    • Heating Pump Mode: Remove the lower drain plug and install a drain connector with a hose, directing it to a drain area.
    • Full Bottom Tray ("P1" error): The unit will beep and stop operation. The bottom drain plug must be removed to drain the water, then reinstalled to resume operation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Safety Precautions: Always unplug the unit before cleaning or servicing. Do not use gasoline, thinner, or other chemicals. Do not wash the unit directly with water. If the power cord is damaged, it must be repaired by a qualified professional.
  • Air Filter Cleaning: Clean the air filters (upper and lower) at least once every two weeks to maintain efficient operation. Filters should be washed gently in warm water (approx. 40°C/104°F) with a neutral detergent, rinsed, and dried in a shady place before reinstallation.
  • Unit Enclosure Cleaning: Use a lint-free cloth soaked with neutral detergent, then dry with a clean cloth.
  • Long-Term Storage:
    1. Remove the rubber plug and attach a hose to the drain outlet to drain water from the unit.
    2. Remove the plug from the bottom drain outlet to ensure all water is drained from the bottom tray.
    3. Run the appliance on FAN mode for half a day in a warm room to dry the interior and prevent mold.
    4. Stop the appliance, unplug it, wrap the power cord, and remove batteries from the remote controller.
    5. Clean and reinstall the air filters.
