Pure Cold IMPACT6 Self Contained Medium Temperature Display Case Containing R290 A3
Refrigerant With An 115V Electrical Supply From a Power Cord Fitted With NEMA 5-15P Plug
Electrical
Before working on the electrical part of the system the cabinet should be isolated from the
electrical supply by unplugging the cabinet and taking precautions to ensure it cannot be plugged
in while someone is working on the system.
Refrigeration
The refrigerant used in the cooling system is R290 which is an A3 flammable refrigerant that
requires specific care is taken when working on this product. The refrigerant is sealed in the
system and should only be worked on by trained and competent technician.
The refrigerant in the system is heavier than air so under fault conditions any refrigerant leaked
will initially settle in lower area but may be dispersed by the cabinet fans.
Only equipment specifically design for use on hydrocarbon refrigerant systems should be used as
non-specifically designed equipment may cause a risk .
No open flames of other sources of ignition should be used in the area around the case until a
check for refrigerant leak or hydrocarbon presence is carried out.
The use of a Hydrocarbon specific handheld leak detection device is required for the detection of
the refrigerant.
All work on the refrigeration system should be carried out in a well-ventilated area.
Correct risk assessments and method statements should be completed by the Technician or their
company before any work is carried out and it is their responsibility to ensure all safety
requirements are identified and followed.
Condensation Water
The cabinet is fitted with a self-evaporative drainage tray and excessive ambient conditions could
cause this to overflow resulting in water on the floor which should be monitored and if on the
floor appropriate action taken so there is no risk to persons safety.
