The Pyure Mini™ 25 & 50 is an air and surface protection system designed for small indoor spaces, functioning as a portable, free-standing purifier. It utilizes hydroxyl generation technology to sanitize and deodorize environments. This device is suitable for various commercial applications such as offices, classrooms, conference rooms, and waiting areas.
Function Description:
The Pyure Mini™ generates hydroxyls for air and surface protection. It is equipped with an air mover fan that operates between 5-16 ft³/m [0.14-0.45 m³/h] to circulate air. The hydroxyl generation is powered by an optic, which can be turned on via the power button. The device also features a blue LED status light, which is aesthetic only and not the UV Optic, and can be adjusted for brightness. A maintenance indicator flashes when the optic is nearing its end of life and remains illuminated in case of optic or system failure. The unit includes a lockout status feature to prevent unintended operation.

The device uses mercury in its optic to generate UV-C radiation, similar to fluorescent light fixtures. As long as the glass or quartz outer bulb is intact, the mercury is contained and poses no health hazard. In case of an optic breakage, less than 25 mg of mercury may be released, which is significantly less than in a commercial thermometer. Prompt removal of spilled mercury is crucial.
Mercury Spill Clean-up Procedure (if optic breaks):
- Evacuate the room for at least 15 minutes.
- DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner, mop, or broom.
- Dispose of contaminated clothing/fabric; DO NOT wash.
- Only the individual cleaning up the spill should re-occupy the space.
- Close doors, turn off HVAC, open exterior windows, and use fans to direct room air outdoors.
- Cover shoes with disposable covers or wear shoes to be disposed of.
- Remove jewelry to prevent amalgamation with mercury.
- Use a commercial mercury spill clean-up kit.
- Identify items that can be cleaned (non-porous surfaces) and those that cannot (porous surfaces/fabric-covered items). Uncleanable items should be double-bagged and sealed, then placed securely outdoors.
- Wear gloves to carefully pick up larger pieces of broken glass and device remnants with a paper towel, then place in a zipper-type plastic bag.
- Use index cards or stiff cardboard to push smaller pieces of glass and mercury beads into a pile. Use a flashlight to locate beads.
- Use an eyedropper to collect mercury beads and place them in the plastic bag.
- Wrap tape (sticky side out) around gloved fingers to pick up remaining glass or beads.
- Sprinkle sulfur powder over contaminated areas and rub it gently with a paper towel to bind with mercury. Clean up sulfur and mercury with a damp paper towel, then a dry one, placing used paper towels in a zipper-type plastic bag.
- Place all clean-up items (index cards, eyedropper, tape, paper towels, zipper-type bags, used gloves) into a trash bag. Carefully remove gloves by pulling them inside out.
- Carefully seal the trash bag and place it securely outdoors, out of reach of children and pets, until safe disposal.
- Ventilate the area for 24-48 hours, preferably with heat to aid ventilation.
- Dispose of contaminated items properly; do not place in regular household trash. Contact local officials for hazardous waste disposal information.
- Clothes or shoes not in direct contact with liquid mercury should be removed, placed in a trash bag outside the contaminated area, aired out thoroughly outdoors for 24-48 hours, then laundered if washable.
Important Safeguards:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Plug into a grounded AC electrical outlet.
- Remove all packaging material before use.
- Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas and away from heat sources.
- DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids.
- Unplug the generator before moving, cleaning, or when not in use.
- NEVER drop or insert objects into openings.
- DO NOT operate with a damaged cord/plug, if the fan fails, or after malfunction/damage. Return to manufacturer for repair.
- Use only for intended purpose; other uses may cause hazards.
- INDOOR USE ONLY.
- NEVER block air openings or place on soft surfaces.
- Keep away from heated surfaces and open flames.
- CAUTION: For general ventilating use only. DO NOT use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials.
- DO NOT attempt to repair; doing so voids warranty. No user-serviceable parts inside.
- DO NOT plug in with wet hands.
- NEVER use detergents, gasoline, furniture polish, paint thinner, or other household solvents for cleaning.
- DO NOT cut or remove the third (Ground) prong from the power cord.
- Not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities unless supervised.
- DO NOT allow unsupervised children to play with the hydroxyl generator.
- KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
- WARNING - UV radiation emitted from this device. Unintended use or damage to housing may result in exposure to UV radiation, causing eye and skin irritation. Avoid exposing eyes and skin to UV radiation.
- This device is a supplement, not a substitute, for standard infection control practices. Users must continue to follow all current infection control practices.
