Do you have a question about the Qcells Q.HOME CORE H5 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Q.HOME CORE H5 is a single-phase, grid-connected system designed for residential use, integrating solar energy sources and Li-ion Battery energy storage. It comprises an inverter (Q.VOLT), battery charger/discharger, Li-ion battery (Q.SAVE), and an Energy Management System (EMS). The system's operating modes, including stand-alone (back-up), PV generation, and PV generation with charge/discharge, are automatically managed by the EMS algorithm.

Function Description:

The Q.HOME CORE H5 is designed to:

  • Charge the integrated Li-ion Battery energy storage.
  • Supply power to household loads.
  • Convert direct current (DC) electricity from the battery to alternating current (AC) for discharge to household single-phase loads or the electric system.

The system supports various energy policy modes:

  • Standby: Halts all operations.
  • Self-consumption: Controls power autonomously. PV-generated electricity is first used for household loads, then to charge the battery, and any remaining surplus is sold to the power company.
  • Zero Export Mode: Prevents PV-generated electricity from being sold to the power company. Power is prioritized for household loads, then battery charging, and any excess reduces PV generation.
  • Time-based Mode: Controls electricity based on a preset schedule, managing battery charging and discharging hourly. Actions include:
    • None: Q.HOME CORE is on standby.
    • Auto: Operates like Self-consumption mode.
    • Inverter: Allows control of charging (negative power value, e.g., -5000W to -1W) or discharging (positive power value, e.g., 1W to 5000W) from the grid.
  • External Generation Mode: In off-grid mode, this prevents electricity from flowing to the in-house generator.
