5.1 PRELIMINARY CHECKS (Fig. 01)
RIDING THE VEHICLE
Engine oil Check the level.
Final drive oil
Check for leaks.
Water cooled Check the level.
Braking system
Check that the braking levers do not stick while operating.
Check the front disc brake oil level, and that there is no leakage
in the circuit. Check the rear drum brake adjuster tightening
Throttle control
Check the correct opening/closure operation during the whole
handlebar rotation.
Lights, warning lights,
horn, turn indicators
Check the right operation of visual and acoustic devices.
Steering wheel Check that the rotation is homogeneous, smooth and play-free.
Tyres
Check the tyres right inflation pressure, wear state, and any
possible damage.
Central / side stand
Check that it operates properly, i.e. the springs bring it to the
rest position.
Fuel tank
Check the fuel level, any leaks and that the cap is closed
properly.
Tightening elements Check that the tightening elements are not slackened.
Hydraulic Tilting System
(HTS)
Ensure that the caps are and that there are no leaks within the
circuit.
The following checks must always be carri-
ed out before riding the vehicle in order to
ensure it trouble-free operation. Failure to
comply with this rule may lead to serious
injuries and damage to the vehicle.
