Overview

This document provides instructions for installing a Quartet Glass White Board, a writing surface designed for capturing ideas and brainstorming. The installation process is detailed, ensuring a secure and level mounting of the glass board.

Function Description:

The Quartet Glass White Board serves as a modern and durable writing surface for offices, classrooms, or home environments. Its primary function is to provide a high-contrast, vivid surface for dry-erase markers, allowing users to write, draw, and present information clearly. The glass construction offers a sleek aesthetic and a smooth writing experience, making it suitable for various applications from daily note-taking to collaborative project planning. The board is designed to be a permanent fixture on a wall, providing a stable and accessible writing area.

Usage Features:

The Quartet Glass White Board is designed for ease of use and durability.

  • Installation: The installation process is straightforward, requiring at least two people (or three or more for larger boards) to ensure proper positioning and leveling. The kit includes all necessary hardware, such as self-drilling drywall anchors, Phillips head screws, standoff caps, washers, and metal threaded standoffs. A pencil, level, Phillips head screwdriver, and power drill are also required for installation.
    • Preparation: Before installation, the white board is positioned against the wall in the desired location and leveled. A pencil is used to mark the mounting hole positions on the wall through the board's pre-drilled holes.
    • Wall Anchors: After marking, the board is moved aside, and pilot holes are drilled at each marked "x" using a 7/32" drill bit. Self-drilling drywall anchors are then inserted into these pilot holes using a Phillips head screwdriver, turned clockwise until flush with the wall surface.
    • Standoffs: Standoffs (Part G) are placed over each drywall anchor. Phillips head screws (Part E) are inserted through the standoffs and tightened into the anchors, ensuring the standoffs are held tightly against the wall and are flush before proceeding.
    • Washers: Washers (Part D) are placed over each standoff.
    • Glass Board Installation: The white board is lifted and aligned over the standoffs on the wall, ensuring it is fully supported. A washer (Part D) is placed on the threaded section of each standoff cap (Part C). Each standoff cap with a washer is then inserted through the white board and into the barrel of the wall-mounted standoff. The standoff caps are turned clockwise until almost tight against the white board. Once all caps are in place, they are fully tightened, ensuring the standoffs are flush against the white board surface.
  • Accessories Tray: An accessories tray (Part B) is included to hold markers and other small items. This tray is aligned along the bottom of the white board, pressed up over the glass so that the glass fits between the gap in the back channel of the tray, and then pushed up until the bottom of the back channel is fully against the glass. This provides convenient storage for writing tools, keeping them within easy reach during use.
  • Writing Surface: The board features a durable, tempered glass surface that provides a vivid, high-contrast background for writing. This ensures that notes and drawings are clearly visible, enhancing readability and presentation quality.
  • Compatibility: For optimal performance, the manual recommends using Quartet Glass Dry Erase Markers, which are designed to work best with the glass surface, ensuring smooth writing and easy erasability.

Maintenance Features:

While the manual does not explicitly detail maintenance features, the nature of a glass white board implies certain advantages:

  • Durability: Tempered glass is inherently durable and resistant to ghosting, staining, and scratching, which are common issues with traditional whiteboards over time. This means the board will maintain its pristine appearance and functionality with regular use.
  • Easy Cleaning: Glass surfaces are generally easy to clean. Dry erase markers can be wiped away cleanly, and the surface can be periodically cleaned with a glass cleaner to remove any residue or smudges, ensuring a consistently clear writing area. The resistance to ghosting means that even after extensive use, the board should remain bright and clean without lingering marks from previous writing.
  • Long-lasting Aesthetic: The modern and sleek design of the glass board, combined with its durable material, ensures that it remains an attractive and functional addition to any space for a long time, requiring minimal upkeep beyond regular cleaning.
