The Quill Falcon Cyclone system is a precision dustless blasting system that combines the simplicity of conventional dry blasting with the effectiveness of ultra-high pressure (UHP) jetting, without the associated hazards and complications. This patented system rapidly removes coatings, corrosion, and residues, leaving surfaces contaminant-free, profiled, and cleaned to SSPC-SP5 - SSPC-SP10 (WAB)/NACE WAB 1 standards. It is suitable for tasks ranging from blasting through reinforced concrete to delicate glass etching. By varying the volumes of air, water, and grit, the speed, surface profile, and grit consumption can be altered to suit specific job requirements.
Function Description:
The Quill Falcon Cyclone system works by coating blast media in a water jacket due to surface tension. This water jacket increases the speed and mass of the media, enhancing the force of impact on the blast surface. The water presence also lubricates and eliminates hose and nozzle wear. When the blast media hits the surface, the water jacket continues moving, still holding onto the blast media by surface tension, and prevents grit bounce. The water jacket then snaps around the blast media into cracks under the blast surface, hydrostatically blasting away a larger amount of surface coating. The end result is a profiled surface with feathered edges, achieved with the most efficient use of blast media and water.
