(the lowest point on the sightglass). The switch contact should be
open (no continuity). If the contact is closed, rotate the switch cover
counterclockwise until the switch opens. The indicating mark on
the cover label should be near vertical (straight up) position.
Step 11) Add oil to the crankcase to the maximum fill level (even with the
bottom of the oil fill hole). Verify the switch contact is now closed
and continuity is obtained.
Step 12) Tighten the 3 setscrews (#10-32) on the cover using 24-32 in. - oz.
torque. This will secure the cover to the adapter and set the switch
trip location. Do not use excessive torque when tightening screws
as this may damage the switch.
Step 13) Connect the wires in series with the pressure switch and motor
starter (see WP1744AO for 3 phase starters & WP1744BO for single
phase starters). All wiring should be installed in the proper size
conduit. The conduit to the switch should be 3/8” flexible conduit
with the associated sleeves and appropriate conduit fittings. All
wiring must comply with national and local electrical codes and
should be done by a qualified electrician.
Step 14) Apply safety decal #112405 to unit base plate near oil level switch.
