Overview

The Radial ProMS2 is a balanced microphone splitter designed to distribute mic signals to multiple audio systems, commonly used in sound reinforcement for feeding house PA and monitor consoles, or in studios for multi-preamp setups and live broadcasts.

Function Description

The ProMS2 takes a single microphone or line-level input and splits it into three outputs:

  • DIRECT-1 thru-put: A parallel direct output that allows 48V phantom power from the primary mixing console to feed condenser microphones or active direct boxes.
  • DIRECT-2 output: An identical thru-put to DIRECT-1, but equipped with a ground LIFT switch to reduce ground loop noise. This output can be used to send a balanced, mic-level signal to an alternate device such as a recording system.
  • ISOLATED output: A transformer-isolated output designed to eliminate ground loop hum and buzz. It employs a high-performance Eclipse mic bridging transformer and is equipped with a ground LIFT switch to decouple the signal ground. This output is typically used for a second mixing console or recording system.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Audio circuit type: Passive mic splitter, transformer-based.
  • Number of channels: Three-way splitter (one in/three out).
  • Frequency response: 20Hz ~ 20KHz.
  • Dynamic range: 140dB.
  • Maximum input: +25dBu @ 1kHz.
