Quick Start Guide
Thank you for purchasing the RadioPopper
compatible transmitter module. This module may
be installed into the following Sekonic brand light
meters: L-358, L-758D, L-758DR, L-758Cine, C-500R
Installation Instructions
1) Remove the battery cover from the back side of
the Sekonic light meter. Refer to the picture on the
reverse side of this guide.
2) If your Sekonic light meter already contains a radio
module in the opening (it will look like a small plastic
box set inside the square space above the battery),
carefully remove the existing module. If a module is
not already present, you may see a small cover over
the connecting pins inside the opening. Remove the
cover from the connecting pins if present.
3) Align the connecting pins inside the light meter
with the connector on the back side of the Radio-
Popper module. Carefully press the RadioPopper
module onto the connecting pins inside the light
meter. The RadioPopper module may be removed if
necessary by pulling on the green ribbon.
4) Follow the instructions provided with your
Sekonic light meter to enable Wireless Flash Radio
Triggering Mode. Select a radio channel between
1 and 16. This radio channel will correspond to the
RadioPopper radio channels 1 to 16. The light meter
will automatically set the correct radio channel on
the RadioPopper module.
5) Conrm proper operation of the RadioPopper
module by observing the green light in the lower
right corner of the module. It will blink periodically
to indicate proper operation and that your light
meter is congured correctly. Each time you trigger
your meter to take a light reading, this green light
will strobe momentarily as your wireless lights are
activated.
6) Replace the battery cover on your Sekonic light
meter. You’re all done. Happy metering!

Overview

The RadioPopper Sekonic Module is a compatible transmitter module designed to be installed into specific Sekonic brand light meters, including models L-358, L-758D, L-758DR, L-758Cine, and C-500R. This module enables wireless flash radio triggering, allowing the light meter to communicate with and activate wireless lights for taking light readings.

Function Description:

The primary function of the RadioPopper Sekonic Module is to integrate wireless flash radio triggering capabilities into compatible Sekonic light meters. Once installed, the module allows the light meter to wirelessly activate external flash units, facilitating accurate light readings for photography. The module operates by receiving a radio channel selection from the light meter and then transmitting a signal on that corresponding channel to trigger wireless lights. A green indicator light on the module provides visual feedback on its operational status and confirms successful triggering.

Installation Instructions:

Installation of the module is a straightforward process:

  1. Battery Cover Removal: Begin by removing the battery cover from the back of the Sekonic light meter.
  2. Existing Module/Cover Removal: If an existing radio module is present in the designated opening (a small plastic box above the battery), it should be carefully removed. If no module is present, a small cover over the connecting pins may be visible and should also be removed.
  3. Module Insertion: Align the connecting pins inside the light meter with the connector on the back of the RadioPopper module. Carefully press the RadioPopper module onto these pins. The module can be removed by pulling on the green ribbon if necessary.
  4. Wireless Flash Radio Triggering Mode Activation: Follow the instructions provided with your Sekonic light meter to enable its Wireless Flash Radio Triggering Mode.
  5. Channel Selection: Select a radio channel between 1 and 16 on your light meter. This channel will automatically be set on the RadioPopper module, corresponding to RadioPopper radio channels 1 to 16.
  6. Operation Confirmation: Confirm proper operation by observing the green light in the lower right corner of the module. This light will blink periodically to indicate correct operation and proper configuration with the light meter. When the meter is triggered to take a light reading, this green light will strobe momentarily as the wireless lights are activated.
  7. Battery Cover Replacement: Once confirmed, replace the battery cover on your Sekonic light meter.
