Operating principle
Closed valve
Series Rn 150 Plus solenoid valves work
thanks to the di󰀨erential forces acting on the
internal diaphragm.
In fact, when the solenoid valve is statically
closed, the water pressure is the same in the
lower body as in the upper body.
However, if this force acts on surfaces of
di󰀨erent dimensions, the imbalance of forces
necessary for the solenoid valve to remain
closed is created.
As can be seen from the drawing, the surface
of the diaphragm (upper body), where the
water exerts its thrust, is larger than that of
the shutter, and therefore the latter is pushed
by the unbalanced force.
and therefore the latter is pushed by the
unbalanced forces to close the mouth of the
solenoid valve.
Open valve
The solenoid valve is opened by draining the
water in the upper body. This is because,
thanks to the lifting of the mobile core, a drain
with a larger
section larger than the water supply hole to
the upper body: in a short time, the upper
body will be almost empty and the
In a short time the upper body will therefore
be almost empty and the pressure of the
water on the shutter will lift it and allow the
passage of the water.
