1. SafetyInformation
This manual includes important information for the safe
operation, installation, and proper maintenance of this
product.Thisdocumentshouldbereadandunderstoodby
the personnel responsible for the various phases of the
proper implementation of this equipment as well as how
this piece of equipment operates within the intended
system.
Although you may be familiar with similar
equipment, please read and understand this document
before proceeding to operate, install, or service this
equipment.

This manual will use various terms to alert you that the
describedprocedure maypresent a potential hazard if the
outlined
steps and required safety protocols are not
adhered.The following is a list of safety terms with a
definitiontoaidinidentifyingthelevelofpotentialhazard:
Noticeisusedtodrawyourattentionto
important information that may not
necessarilybehazardrelated.
Caution is used to notify you of a
potentialhazardwhichwillorcancause
injury or damage to the equipment or
property if the referenced process or
procedureisnotadhered.
Warning is used to notify you of a
potentialhazardwhichcancausesevere
injury if the referenced process or
procedureisnotadhered.
Danger is used to notify you of a
potentialhazardwhichwillcaus esevere
injuryordeathifthereferencedprocess
orprocedureisnotadhered.
1.2. SafetySummary
Be sure to check all regulations, local, state, federal
and country, that may apply to the use of a winch or
winch systemfor lifting and lowering people before
employing the winch in a personnel handling
application.
It is the customer’s responsibility to account for the
supporting structure and means to attach this
equipment(bolting, welding,etc…)as well as thewire
rope and rigging accessories used in conjunction with
this equipment.These must provide an adequate
design factor based on the safe working loads of the
system
thatthisequipmentisbutasinglecomponent.
Consultastructuralengineerifnecessary.
Allpersonnel workingnear suspendedloads or assisting in
the hooking and tagging of suspended loads should be
properly trained in rigging practices and should be
instructed to not pass under the load.All load handling
shouldbeplannedandpracticedsothatintheeventofan
equipment failure, no
personnel are injured.Always keep
personnel out of the path of a moving load and out from
underaraisedload.
It is the user’s responsibility to properly determine the
suitabilityofanyproductasitpertainstoaparticularuseor
application.Itisrecommendedthatallapplicableindustry,
local,state,federalregulationsbeverifiedtodetermineifa
product is fit for purpose.Read and understand all
operatinginstructionsandwarningsbeforeoperations.
It is the user’s responsibility to be properly trained in
rigging techniques and exercise caution during all lifting
and load handling operations.Refer to ASME B30.9
and
the Wire Rope User Manual published by the Wire Rope
TechnicalBoardforadditionalrigginginformation.
