Solution
Checkpower cold for asecure connection
Unplug the unit for a moment, and then
plug into power source again
Checkthe outlet by plugging in another
device
{ncreasethe volume setting
Checkconnection to speakers.
Check that you have selected the appropri-
ate function: CD,TAPE,Tuner
Checkantennaconnection
i Moveantenna
i Turn off nearby electrical appliances, such
i ashair dsye_ vacuum cleane<microwave,
i fluorescentlights
Checkthat CD isin the tray.
Checkthat CD label is facing up
Checkthat PAUSEmode is not on
Checkthat CDfunction is selected

Checkdisc for warping, scratches, or other
damage
Checkif something iscausing the system to
vibate If so, move the system
Solution
Switd] to another function (TAPErTuner)
and then back to CD
inspect the tape heads and clean and
demagnetize
Checkthat the batteries ale properly
installed,
Replace weak batteries
Checkthe system is plugged in to power
Point the remote directly at the system's
front panel
Move closerto the system.
Remove any obstacles between the remote
and the system¸
Disconnect the audio systemfrom the power source
before performing any maintenance,
Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the system using a soft dust
cloth,
CDPlayer
CAUTION! This system operates with a laser. It must
be opened by only a qualified technician.
Tape Player
TO prevent deterioration of sound quality, periodical
ly open the door of each deck and clean the magnet
icheads, pinch roller, and capstan with a cotton bud
dipped in alcohol, Also, demagnetize the head by
playing a demagnetizing cassette(available through
an audio equipment store),
