1.
Measure opening between the posts where
the gate will be located (Fig. 1). Subtract 6¼"
from this measurement to determine the
length which your rail section should be cut
to. Ensure that the spacing from the end of
the rail to the first routed hole is the same on
both ends before cutting.
NOTE: Maximum width of opening between
posts is 48".
Avalon rail panels come pre-assembled,
so simply cut your rail section to the length
determined in Step 1. Purchase your Avalon
top rail and cut this to the same length.
2.
To mount your rail panel to the uprights (item
A), measure ¼" up from the bottom of the
uprights and make a mark. Align the bottom
brackets to this line so that the bottom of
the bracket matches up to the line (Fig. 2).
Pre-drill holes through the upright with a

drill bit and attach the bottom bracket to the
upright using the 1½" screws included in the
bracket kit. From the bottom of the upright,
measure up 32

Attach the top brackets to the upright using
the 1½" screws included in the bracket kit.
3.
Test fit the rail panel. Once proper fit is
ensured, press the bottom bracket covers
onto the ends of the bottom rail.
Press the top rail and end covers onto the
top of the rail panel. Press down on the top
rail to ensure it fits firmly on the rail panel
and that the bracket covers are being held
in place by the bracket. Using the two holes
in the bottom of the top bracket as a guide,
pre-drill with a

" drill bit, being careful not to
drill through your top rail. Connect the panel,
bracket, and top rail together by driving the

locking your section together.
Measure and mark a line 1" from the post
onto the bracket. Pre-drill a

one side of the bottom bracket between the
edge of the bracket cover and the 1" mark.
Drive a #8 x ¾" screw to secure the rail to the
bracket (Fig. 4).
