re-STREAM C2A - User Manual

The re-STREAM C2A is a wireless CarPlay adapter designed to enable wireless CarPlay functionality in vehicles that are factory-fitted with wired CarPlay. This device allows users to connect their iPhone wirelessly to their vehicle's smartphone interface outlet and stream CarPlay over Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for a USB cable connection for CarPlay.

1. USB-C socket: This port is used for connecting the adapter to the vehicle's USB outlet.

3. LED light: This indicator provides status information:
   • Solid red light: Indicates the device is in active mode.
   • Solid red & blue light: Indicates a successful update.

Usage and Installation:

Installation is straightforward:

1. Plug in: Connect the re-STREAM C2A to your vehicle's smartphone USB-outlet using the USB-C socket.
2. Connect to iPhone:
   • Search for new Bluetooth devices from your car radio interface or iPhone.
   • Confirm and accept the prompts on your iPhone to enable wireless CarPlay. This typically involves pairing via Bluetooth and then confirming the use of CarPlay. The manual shows an example of a Bluetooth pairing request and a prompt to allow contact and favorite synchronization, as well as a prompt to use CarPlay.

Icon Descriptions (from the CarPlay interface):

• A house icon is used to switch between the CarPlay interface and the original vehicle interface.
• A globe icon serves as a language selector; pressing it allows switching between different languages.

Updating the re-STREAM C2A:

To ensure optimal performance and access to new features, the device can be updated:

1. Disconnect iPhone: Disable Bluetooth on your iPhone and restart the C2A device.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi: Connect your iPhone to the C2A's Wi-Fi network using the passcode "12345678".
3. Initiate Update: Scan the provided QR code with your iPhone camera or navigate to 192.168.50.2 in a web browser. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.

Maintenance and Care:

Proper care ensures the longevity and reliable operation of the re-STREAM C2A:

• Storage: Always store the device with power off and in a safely protected manner.
• Temperature: Avoid storing the device at extreme temperatures (above 45°C, including direct sunlight, or below -10°C), as this can affect its operation.
• Moisture: Do not expose the re-STREAM C2A to rain or any other liquids.

Safety Information:

• Children: Keep the product and its packaging out of reach of children. Plastic wrapping and small parts can pose choking hazards.
• Disassembly: Do not attempt to dismantle the product yourself. Internal components cannot be replaced or repaired by users. Only Eftermontering i Karlstad AB is authorized to open the product. For any parts requiring replacement, contact your dealer.
• Flammable Atmospheres (ACA TS028): Do not use the product in environments where there is a risk of ignition of flammable gases.

Warranty:

The re-STREAM C2A comes with a limited one (1)-year warranty from Eftermontering i Karlstad AB, covering defects in materials and workmanship. During the warranty period, Eftermontering i Karlstad AB will repair or replace defective products or parts. If repair or replacement is not commercially practicable or timely, a refund of the purchase price may be offered. The warranty does not extend the original warranty period.

Claims under Warranty:

To obtain warranty service, contact the re-STREAM dealer from whom the product was purchased or visit www.re-stream.se for customer support. The product must be returned to the dealer or Eftermontering i Karlstad AB in its original packaging or equivalent. The customer is responsible for shipping costs to the service provider. If the product is covered by warranty, Eftermontering i Karlstad AB will cover return shipping costs. Shipping costs will be charged to the customer for products not covered by warranty or requiring no repair.

Limitation of Warranty:

The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and terminates if the product is sold or transferred. It applies only to products purchased for use, not for resale, and does not cover open box purchases, which are sold "as is." The warranty specifically excludes normal wear and tear and consumable components.

The warranty is void if the factory-applied serial number, date code label, or product label has been altered or removed. It does not cover cosmetic damage or damage due to misuse, abuse, negligence, acts of nature, accident, disassembling or modification of, or to any part of, the product. Damage due to improper operation, maintenance, installation, or attempted repair by unauthorized persons also voids the warranty.
